There's absolutely nothing wrong with the food here. The chicken on spinach was quite nice and very filling. The price was very reasonable for both this as well as the beer. On the other hand, the issue at hand is the wait staff, pure and simple. From the moment we got in, we were expected to know what it was that we had wanted to order to eat (we were even asked if we were going to eat because they reserve some tables for only people ordering food.) We were all pressured into ordering sides as the waitress seemed very insistent on this - we declined. Once the food and drink was delivered in a very reasonable amount of time, the waitress returned a couple of moments later asking what else we wanted to drink, despite everyone's glass being quite full at that time. She returned multiple times throughout the meal not to check to make sure that we were happy with the meal but to have us order more while eating. This tactic is rude, inconsiderate and ruined the dining experience. At the end, the waitress was hesitant to allow card payment and made it very clearly known that 'tip's are not included,' and she even had the audacity to mention how much she 'suggested' tipping. While I do not want to begrudge the restaurant owner in this, this level of service is appalling and seems more apt to the horror stories one hears of Prague's bandit-like taxi drivers rather than a restaurant trading on the name of the near-by tourist sight of the Lennon wall and the namesake of the pub, John Lennon. I would not advise visiting this restaurant until such time that there is a turn over of staff such that the polluted atmosphere has...
Read moreHow this Place got a 4,0 rating is a miracle for me! We entered this establishment in hopes of nice English food and left utterly disapointed. Eventhough there was hardly anyone else everything seemed to take ages. Our Drinks ( a Beer and a Coke) took at least 15 minutes. The food was OK but for the price it was a rather small Portion and again took ages. We waited at least 45 minutes vor 2 Salats, fries, and a bit of Fried fish and chips. The personell at first was neither espacially friendly nor unfriendly. But when it came to paying the bill the head waitress almost went in rage when i asked her a question about the bill. Eventhough I dont speak nor understand Czech i could deduce from the embarrest face of the other waitress, the agry Voice and the throwen Menu that she probably didnt like my question. Absentminded i still asked if I could tip something. Im onestly not sure if this is normal but she then just added 10% herself which I obvioulsy deemed as too much. Maybe this is a Normal practice but I find it onestly very rude. The Toilette of the Restaurant you cant close?! The only Really positive i might want to add is that the ambience...
Read moreThe waiter was EXTREMELY RUDE. We went in to order drinks at 21:45. After 10 minutes the waiter started yelling at us that he is closing at 22:30 (official time of closing on Google is 00:00). After we ordered he brought one of the beers filled to the middle and when asked if it could be filled to the top like the other beers at the table he started yelling at us once again that „Actually this is the way beer is served in Prague, this isn’t England, this isn’t the USA, so I will fill it up this time, but just know that this (censored) isn’t Czech“. Um, actually I’m paying for 500ml of beer so I would like to receive 500ml of beer. And for the cherry on top - we each go to the bar to pay for our drinks separately. After coming back to the table and reviewing our bank transactions we saw that we had been charged 10% on top of our bill. These 10% ARE NOT PRESENT on the receipt that we got from him. So, in the end we paid a sum that we hadn’t agreed to and if we hadn’t checked our bank transactions we wouldn’t even have known about. Overall wouldn’t...
