We reserved a table for two at 18:00 and arrived at 17:35. A sign indicated they would reopen at 18:00 (this was not mentioned online). Due to the heavy rain, we waited nearby under an umbrella. At 17:50, we returned, assuming it would be possible to enter. However, the sign was still up, and several staff members noticed us and three other couples standing in the rain but ignored us. By 18:05, an older couple behind us called the restaurant and were rudely informed that they would open in about 15 minutes, despite the sign indicating 18:00 and our reservation.

A British couple then tried to make eye contact with a staff member, pointing out that it was unacceptable for customers with reservations to wait in the rain. The staff eventually relayed this to the manager/owner, who walked out, and when we asked if they were open, he rudely replied, "Yes, now we are open," as he removed the sign. This was at 18:15.

The owner knows he has a great location and excellent food and seems to exploit this, which is simply rude and unacceptable customer service. Once inside, the staff provided perfect service.

There appears to be a strict hierarchy here, with everyone deferring to the owner. This is blatantly rude.

Customer service & respect from the owner (-10). Customer service from the staff (10) Food (10) Atmosphere (10).

Tip for the owner: Improve your manners and respect for customers. A great location and superb food don't excuse poor...

We had happened by this spot a couple days before we visited. There was live music at the outdoor patio and there was a pretty large crowd gathered at the park across the river from it so we decided to go back and stop in when the weather was good.

We got there just before 5 when the acoustic duo was on break & got seated at the riverside bar for drinks. The musicians were fabulous and had everyone singing and in a great mood. The staff were signing and dancing along as well. I had the best mojito ever and it really was a great way to spend the afternoon.

We watched some food go by and ask d if we could get an outdoor table for dinner. The waiters were great and slipped us into the next unreserved table. Our food was fabulous. I had our waiter chose my meal for me and he chose a pasta dish that had a tomato cream sauce and small pieces of steak in it. It was so good and an excellent selection by someone who really knows the menu. My partner got a grilled calamari dish that was fresh, tender and delicious.

Our bill came to 2010 Korunas (about $86. US without tip) for 2 entrees, 4 beers & 4 mojitos which we felt was a bargain for an afternoon of entertainment and a great evening meal. If you are lucky enough to be in Prague on a sunny afternoon, please visit this place. The entire staff are happy and inviting, the entertainment and atmosphere 1st class, and the...

The very BEST ITALIAN restaurant I have ever been in my long life is NOT situated in Italy but to my big surprise in PRAGUE and it’s PIKNIK PARK.

During my 4 days visit in Prague for the mariage of my niece, a famous Czech and international photographer, I have been all 3 evenings eating there.

Why? Because it’s an outstanding place with as much outstanding owners in a most beautiful and calm place in the full center of Prague on the river Čertovka where you’re surrounded by birds and trees. You believe the PARADISE on earth exists when you sit there. The attention to every detail of the beauty of each table, the exceptional Italian food, the kindness of the owner couple, the flexibility to adapt the course to your preference and to your other Italian food knowledge, even though the course is not on the menue, is absolutely amazing. Rarely in my life in Switzerland I met such an exceptional treat. The wine was absolutely outstanding too of the highest quality. The discovery of this exceptional restaurant, kindly advised by Hotel Mandarin that is situated only 2 minutes walk from there, made my visit to my birth country, absolutely unforgettable.

I can’t wait to return to Prague and to this fabulous Italian restaurant and to thank again its owners for their dedication and for such a high culinary and hosting...

Piknik Park is a bit of a hidden gem in Prague. At first, it's easy to miss the little seating area tucked between a building and the canal. However, the subtle chatter of diners and the wonderful aromas from the kitchen soon reveal its presence. The entrance doesn't immediately showcase the beautiful patio overlooking the canal. We made reservations just a few hours before arriving and were fortunate to get a table with a great view. Many walk-ins without reservations were turned away or faced long waits. Though our food took a while due to the restaurant being busy, it was well worth it. The shrimp appetizer was delicious, and the pastas were tasty and served hot. Our waiter was very helpful, recommending dishes and wines, and even offering to take photos for us. A small wedding with live music beside the restaurant added a special touch to the evening. Piknik Park is definitely worth visiting for dinner or just a drink to enjoy the surroundings. It was one of the most memorable dining spots on our visit to Prague.
