U vodárny — Restaurant in Prague

I went here last night with 5 of my friends to see our professors rock band perform. The band was lovely. We were obviously being extremely respectful considering our professor was 3 feet away from us. Yet when we went to place our food order our waitress told us no, we couldn’t order food, and took our menus away. We assumed that the kitchen was closed. 10 minutes later we saw our very same waitress taking orders from a group to our right and shortly after bringing out their food! When our friend went to pay for our 12 total beers at end of the show we were treated extremely rudely. I understand the stereotype that young American tourists can carry, but to refuse service to a medium sized group of sober American students there on their Czech professors invitation? Entirely...

When you get to Prague, everyone tells you that Czechs are rude and treat foreigners badly. I had never had that bad experience until I came to this bar. We were on our second beer when the old, blonde waitress abruptly and aggressively took our unfinished drinks—which we had already paid for—without a word. They supposedly wanted to close, but they didn't do the same to the table next to us; they were Czechs, so you can imagine our surprise. Before that, the other old, brunette waitress came to collect payment and tried to snatch my phone from my hand to pay herself because the card reader didn't take the payment on the first try. I’ve eaten svičkova here before (last picture is from that time) and it was quite nice, I came back yesterday and we were served the same dish in a very ugly presentation, the meat was not a piece, it was scattered all over and it felt like they just threw all the sauce they had left on top of the dish.. idk if it is me, but I haven’t seen it served like this before anywhere else and was quite disappointed. Also the taste wasn’t as good as the time before. Giving 2 stars because the taste of the goulash was ok but also presentation was a bit off, and the fried cheese was nice.
