Read moreFirstly, the staff are an amazing bunch of such friendly, young Danes. Not only did they make me feel so welcome, but they talked to me extensively about their culture, their studies, the food, the neighborhood, and they were equally inquisitive about me. (I was a solo traveler. So the company & conversation were really nice! I feel like I have close friends in Denmark after just one day, haha!) The atmosphere was super cool, as well, and had a very chic, but understated vibe. The place is divided into two parts: a large warehouse-like hall attached to a smaller cafe. Both areas seemed equally cool! As a chef, I will generally eat anything & everything (with the exception of bad food). So I opted for a full tasting menu, and just let my server order for me. Everything was fantastic! This place is known for pickling quite a few seasonal veggies, fruits, and seafood (classicly Danish) in a thoughtful way. There were plenty of vegetarian & vegan options, though I had the Ling Cod which was a perfectly executed, moist piece of fish (I'm guessing pan-roasted and finished in a wood-fired oven... I couldn't quite tell because it was across the large part of the restaurant, which was packed, and I didn't want disturb other diners walking through their tables just to see the oven, though I did REALLY want to get a better look.) It was a great first stop on my culinary journey through Copenhagen!!! Highly...
Read moreTl;dr it's a bit pricy but for an incredible, unique but seasonal and filling meal it's worth the visit.
We made the mistake of not making a reservation for dinner on a Saturday night, and walked in to try our luck. At first we were told no but to try back in an hour and maybe. We came back and were able to be seated at the bar which we were grateful to take.
We took the set menu which gives all the starters and sides on that menu and one main. The food was delicious, the butter pork and ling fish in particular were simply sensational. Full of flavour and colour; wonderful contrasting but complimentary textures that were all well balanced, interesting and delicious.
After our starters the waitress that had greeted us told us there was a free table. All of the servers and chefs were super chill and very friendly. We finished eating after the kitchen had closed and the chefs very generously still made us dessert. The vibe was great, relaxed and welcoming with good music.
If you're visiting definitely worth checking out. Also shout out to our lovely server, fellow Brit turned full Dane, Pia, congrats again on the move and the bike, all the very best...
