I visited my family in Copenhagen and I have extra time to go to this restaurant last minute on my last day as I just saw on the YouTube review last minute. 3 of us arrived at 2pm (which I really don’t know that the kitchen closed at 2.30pm) so I didn’t have chance to eat it there.
But the point is not about I don’t have chance to eat but the service mind of one the male staff that in charge of that shift. Once we arrived, we asked for the table for 3 then the lady staff and one staff at the bar were really welcoming to us and asked would you like indoor or outdoor table, but suddenly the male staff that in charge on that shift walked-in and kinda whisper to the lady in Danish but I don’t understand. Then, suddenly the lady staff asked us do you have a reservation!? And we said no.
Then the lady staff told us oh the restaurant is fully booked (which the table is so empty only have 10 customers there) and our kitchen is closed at 2.30pm. Then we asked is it possible to just order now and we won’t take long just 1 hours max. They still said no can’t. Less than 5 minutes after, has 2 customers walked-in and the male staff took those 2 customers right way!
Then I confronted him, why do you take this 2 customers but not us!!?? He said coz they have reservation and we have to prioritise the customers that have reservation first. Well, understand if they have a reservation but you guys told us that kitchen closed at 2.30pm by the time those 2 customers walked-in it 2.24pm (almost 2.30pm) which personally I don’t really buy it, it think it’s quite BS and not reasonable.
Anyway, I have no chance to try their food I really comment on that but never again, I wouldn’t support the business mind like this. Also, I read through other reviews seems kind of overpriced and low service mind for this amount of money to pay. I don’t think I didn’t miss out anything here and just wanna sharing experiences for others to not facing the same...
Read moreHad heard about this place from a foodie friend so was expecting to be blown away but ultimately left a little underwhelmed and still hungry.
When we arrived we stood at the door for 10 minutes while several staff members wandered by ignoring us, none of whom seemed exceptionally busy. A bartender stood right in front of us polishing glass while watching us. There were people behind us too, equally as frustrated by this lack of service. A disappointing start.
The wine list is ridiculously overpriced for what they actually offer which is quite mediocre and differs drastically from the extensive list on their website. Very disappointed there.
The fish was good, fresh and tasty but some of the combinations were odd and didn't truly highlight the fish or seafood. For instance the raw scallops... The horseradish was spicy and zingy but took over the whole plate, you couldn't taste the delicate scallop at all. Such a shame.
The best thing we tried was the leeks. A bit strange that a vegetable dish would surpass the fish dishes in a fish restaurant. The fish pie amuse bouche was also delicious. The sourdough bread and seaweed butter is a delight. It is true sourdough and is almost a meat in bread form. Well worth a try!
Overall the food was good and prepared well, but the flavour combination didn't always do the seafood being highlighted any flavours. Contrary to what it says on the menu 2-4 courses is not enough for a meal. Perhaps it means per person. We ordered 4 with bread and the amuse bouche and we both left hungry. We could have ordered more, but as we were already well over 250 euro for a meal that was underwhelming we decided to call it a day and get something on our way home.
Ambience is nice, can watch the kitchen and see it being efficiently productive.
Service very friendly and helpful after the initial experience of...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal restaurant. Made a reservation online the day we got to Copenhagen and we were solidly impressed with the food we ended up going there twice for dinner within the four days we were in the city.
Dishes we loved: sourdough bread and seaweed whipped butter (8/10) amazing. Got two orders of these on our first visit raw prawns served in herbs and skyr (9/10) they were served with some gem lettuce, if you eat the prawns by themselves just with the sauce they’re 9/10, with the lettuce they were like 6/10. The flavor was too delicate to be paired with lettuce blue mussels steamed in apple cider and white wine, then finished with double cream, scallions and tarragon (9/10) delicious, period. pounded tuna loin with flaky sea salt and puréed black garlic and rhubarb (10/10) reminded me of the pounded tuna at Le Bernardin a bit pan fried hake (10000/10) the “crust” was perfectly golden brown and so crispy (I added the quotations because there was no flour coating, it literally was just the fish itself). & when we cut into the fish, the juice was just pouring out from the fish. This was the moment I realized that almost every fish made in my house was overcooked. grilled daily catch with butter & capers (10/10) first visit we got turbot, second we got plaice, both equally phenomenal pork neck (7/10) stick with the seafood for ordering if u can also, great cocktails
Note: Definitely a bit on the pricier side. I think our bill for 2 was 4400 kr the first time we went, and 2800 kr the second. Don’t get me wrong, we were absolutely stuffed afterwards and had ordered drinks, and thought they were worth every penny! Will absolutely go back when we are back in the city. Reservation is definitely recommended, the restaurant filled up right after we got there at 6pm on a Sunday in September. Call or...
