Where do I begin… my friends and I were suggested this place by a friend who raved about it. So we were excited because the last place they recommended was amazing (ö12). So we tried to walk in one night and they were busy. But from the atmosphere I was feeling it. Young adults working and dining there. The music was nice early 2000s pop/hip hop. It was a vibe. So we made reservations for a few days later. We arrive and it’s just as busy as the previous day. Our server was a young girl (not sure her name unfortunately) but she did inform us that they were busy and we should order all together-cool with us! But we had questions about drinks/food and she was not prepared for that which is fine but she also clearly didn’t care to give us any answers or even correct ones lol. So we order drinks to start; two of us got the rhubarb crush-they were HORRIBLE. How can you mess up a mixed drink sooo badly. My friend got an aperol spritz and 🤢. If the drinks ain’t being drunk then I knew what to expect for the rest of the meal. We got the appetizers-whipped ricotta, olives and rice balls (which I see are no longer on the menu) Very simple and tasty but nothing to go write home about. They gave extra bread which was nice. Now we get our actual meals- 250g steak with salad and fries, spinach carbonara and pasta of the month which was a spicy vodka. The steak was good but over cooked. The sauce on top was nice. The salad was delicious with a nice mustard seed dressing. The spinach pasta was overwhelming for me but my friends liked it! The pasta of the month was also heavy and no a table fave. For dessert we got two espresso martinis and tiramisu- the martinis were PHENOMENAL! Idk if they switched the bartender but much better than the previous drinks and the dessert was basic and small. The main reason for the score was our waitress. After we got our mains she’s literally disappeared. Never came back to check on us for awhile and there are other people working their own tables. Come to found out she was like hiding downstairs working a party but did not tell us? Nor did the other servers seem to know that when we asked for her and instead they took our orders. But the wait between trying to get her to asking for a new server to finally ordering our dessert added an additional 45-60 mins to our time there. We ended up paying more here than I have at BETTER Italian restaurants in NYC. The pricing is what killed me because the service was so bad and the food was mediocre at best. A server did come and help us which was a chill young guy that joked with us and made up for it a crumb. But honestly do not recommend for tourists!!!! It’s a a different experience for the locals but if you’re from a place with good Italian food DO NOT...
Read morePalazzo Diner is a bit “tucked away”, located just across from the Palads cinema, but it’s definitely worth finding. The food is delicious, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
My friend had the fried chicken burger, which was incredibly tasty, and I had the gnocchi with tomato sauce – also really good and full of flavor. It’s not exactly cheap, but honestly, very few places in Copenhagen are anymore.
All in all, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re heading to the movies or just looking for a great meal in the city center.
Second visit: Palazzo Diner – Axeltorv, Copenhagen
We had a wonderful evening at Palazzo Diner, a cozy and stylish spot with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.
For starters, I went with the sliced roast beef served with crispy fries. The roast beef was thinly sliced, tender, and flavorful, and the idea of rolling the beef with the fries made it both fun and delicious. The fries are a must-order — perfectly seasoned and topped with cheese, they pair well with any dish on the menu and are great for sharing at the table.
Next, I tried their popular Spinach Carbonara. The sauce was mild yet creamy and comforting, coating the pasta beautifully. It’s a lighter and greener twist on the classic, and I really enjoyed it.
We also shared their meatballs, which were absolutely fantastic — some of the best I’ve ever had. Juicy, rich in flavor, and served with a lovely tomato sauce, fresh bread, and a creamy ricotta topping — just perfect.
For dessert, we ended with a smooth and tasty panna cotta and an affogato — a simple but wonderful combination of vanilla ice cream and espresso, perfect for coffee lovers.
Overall, Palazzo Diner is a truly delicious spot — great food, pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort food with a twist in the heart...
Read moreThe mangiare & sips set menu 499dkk is outstanding value - bottomless wine and a ridiculous amount of food. The wine is served in 1.5L bottles and you can choose between red or white.
We were started with bread, straciatella and roasted pepper, and olives and pickled fennel. The straciatella was absolutely delicious and the olives were great too. The bread could have been nicer but overall this was a strong start to the meal.
Then we were presented with the sage butter ravioli course which was 2 really decent sized portions between 3 people. We were starting to fill up at this point and hadn’t even gotten to mains yet.
For mains my friend chose meatballs and myself and my other friend chose aubergine Parmesan. We got a huge portion each (was expecting family style), in addition to 2 portions of broccoli, 2 portions of fries and mustard mayo, and some more bread. We barely managed to eat 2/3 of what we were given but the flavours were incredible - wish we were less full.
Then to round off the meal we were given a cherry panna cotta each.
The service here was lovely, and the lights slowly dim as the night goes on and a DJ then appeared around 10pm.
Highly recommend for a group of friends with big appetites!
Service was fun and friendly and attentive. My only complaint would be that our starters were sitting on the table before we arrived - and we were early. Felt a bit odd and was slightly offputting, but the meal...
