Read moreFirst of all this is a 5 star for Mr. Ramen. I have been to Japan and lived there for 2 years. During my time there I had been to many Ramen restaurants, and I mean the Ramen places where the local Japanese visit, not the fast food chain like Ichiran that makes money on foreign tourists. Mr. Ramen is one of the best, if not the best in Copenhagen that makes almost authentic Japanese Ramen. It is authentic other than the part that the owner needs to adjust to western customers’ taste by adding in some vegetables such as corns and lowering the spicy level. Otherwise, you get the real Japanese Ramen. The side spices such as Hachimi Tougarashi (chili powder), Rayu (spicy chili oil) are the ones you find in Ramen restaurants in Japan. Not to mention that the broth tastes good and is freshly made every single day, the Yaki Gyoza (fried dumplings) and Wonton are all handmade by the owner herself. The owner’s family has relatives who own Ramen restaurant in Japan as well. The ppl at the restaurant are also quite friendly. The only draw back is that sometimes it takes time for your Ramen to come to your table, but this also means they cook fresh Ramen and dishes for you! If you want authentic Japanese Ramen at low cost, this is the right...
Read moreFirst up, no more eggs left, which is in itself odd as it is a part of all of their ramen options. Anyway ordered the TANTAN. Almost 40 min. Of waiting and the order comes. I notice something is different. The meat in the ramen had been replaced - WITHOUT any information given. I ask the staff and they said yes, they replaced it with another type of meat since they were out of the original meat. Felt this was very weird not to tell the customer about a change in the order - the staff were rather rude about it and didn’t seem to think it was that big of a deal.. Imaging buying black shoes, and the store runs out of black shoes so instead sends you red shoes, without telling you?! Doesn’t make any sense to me. Now we have, no egg, different meat and 40 min waiting time. Sorry but there is no way you can call yourself MR. Ramen under these circumstances. Overall the ramen was edible but quite bland, the vegetables consisted of canned corn and 1/4 of a tiny bok choy, the broth lacked depth and the noodles were larger than regular ramen noodles. There are definitely other much better options in Copenhagen. Would not recommend, based on staff treatment, tastes and...
