Fazer Café Bulevardi — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I had high hopes for Fazer Cafe after seeing so many of their outlets while traveling around Helsinki and enjoying Fazer’s famously delicious chocolates. Eager for a nice hot, thick chocolate drink and some indulgent cakes, I made a special trip to the cafe before heading to the airport. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.

The hot chocolate was lukewarm at best, which was a recurring issue I noticed in several Helsinki cafes. It felt like the drink had been reheated in a microwave or oven, leaving the cup hot but the drink itself disappointingly tepid. The flavor was underwhelming, lacking the richness and depth you’d expect from a brand known for its chocolates. It felt like a pale imitation of the quality Fazer is known for.

The cheesecake was forgettable and nothing to write home about—bland and lacking any standout flavor or texture that would make it worth the price.

The only redeeming factor was the ambiance. The cafe offers a pleasant spot to relax, especially by the window, where you can enjoy some downtime and people-watch. If you’re just looking for a warm place to sip a cup of coffee on a winter day, it might suffice. But for those expecting a memorable food or drink experience, I’d recommend...

On Saturday, we visited the cafe and were treated rudely by the staff. While waiting to be seated, we were directed to a table near the entrance. Noticing another free table, we wanted to sit there instead, but the server yelled at us, insisting it was reserved and that we could ONLY sit at the designated table and NOWHERE else while there were other free tables. I understand the need to respect reservations, but the server's tone and attitude were completely unnecessary. We left and won't go...

To be honest, their cakes and such are quite tasty. At least, they leave the impression of being consistently high quality. But the uneven slicing of cakes really gets to me. 🙂
