Hate to do this to any place but I would give this place several negative stars if possible. My brothers and I came here to order cortados at 3pm on a Wednesday and the white male server with glasses and long hair basically stared at us blankly for several minutes pretending not to understand and then said that they didn’t have any left (in a curt manner too, very distasteful). He refused to further engage with us after. What kind of a cafe does not have coffee available?

This server had no issues serving the customers before and after us in a friendly manner. I have never received such deplorable service from any other establishment I’ve been to in Helsinki. This left us with such a bad impression of the place that I will definitely not be coming back here, and will discourage anyone else to do so until they train their staff properly.

Such a shame because we had been recommended this...

I came here a few times during my stay in Helsinki. You get a mixture of locals and tourists and they're open earlier than many places at the weekend. It does get very busy at certain times but I never struggled to find a table. The coffee is good and a decent size. I had the cinnamon bun with icing which was huge and I struggled to finish. Another time I had the garden salad with 2 options of salmon and chicken. It was a huge, fresh salad with a really generous portion of both salmon and chicken which I thought was very good value for €16. You could also help yourself to bread and butter from the buffet. Inside they have a range of seating like chairs and tables and sofas and armchairs. Outside there is a patio on the pavement with patio furniture. They have food available all day in case you're eating outside of normal...

this is exactly the kind of café I was looking for. I had a caramel latte that was absolutely incredible and the ham sandwich was delicious. I left with a vanilla blueberry bun and a cinnamon roll and both are absolutely amazing, soft and not too sweet and so flavourful and delicious. The staff were extremely welcoming and the atmosphere of the place and the wide variety of different types of seating choices – – there were three different rooms easily accessible all of them, with big common tables, more private tables for two or four, there were couches there were soft chairs there were corners to hide in or places to be more social in I could not ask for a better café in any way . I am not sure what the other review person meant about the service being confusing or complicated because it isn't it's very...

We got the smoked salmon sandwich, the banana peanut butter loaf and a cinnamon bun with cream cheese. The smoked salmon sandwich was the best sandwich ever. Lots of smoked salmon (except when you get to the bottom layer) and lots of vegetables. Great balance between the oiliness of the fish and the crunchiness of the vegetable. The peanut butter loaf was too sweet for me personally. The loaf was moist but the peanut butter was a bit too overpowering and sweet. The cinnamon bun with cream cheese was not bad. The bun wasn't too dry and the cream cheese gave it that savouriness that it needed. Overall they have some solid selections. I would recommend you give it a try.

St George is said to be one of the best bakeries in Helsinki, so I went to see for myself. I wasn’t disappointed! The coffee was excellent (specialty coffee with nice nutty and caramel notes) and the cinnamon bun was the best one that I had in Helsinki and I even made sure to bring one back to London with me. I also made sure to try the butter and sugar bun, another local Finnish classic pastry. The ladies serving me were very nice and were kind enough to recommend which pastries to try since it was my first time in Helsinki. St George Bakery is the best bakery I tried in Helsinki and it is highly recommended.
