We love Amorino in general. But, the brunette lady (unfortunately, I forgot her name) was unacceptably rude. She refused to sell the flower shape like medium size cones to our kids (she kept insisting on selling small sizes (because she wouldn’t have to do the flower shape with limitless flavors) I kept ordering medium sizes to get the flower shape ice cream three times (stating that I know what I want and our kids can eat the medium size easily as they did before multiple times). But, she got even more mean; her attitude and how she talked were unacceptable). I have never experienced anything like that before in my life to buy something. I spoke about the situation to the supervisor, and she was very friendly and tried to make it up. When she entered the scene, everything got better. But, at that point, I had no apetite left to eat anything. I rarely write reviews. The reason I’m writing this is to stop that person’s mean behavior to prevent her from ruining people’s nice vocations at Chamonix. If she doesn’t like kids or tourists, I wish her better job opportunities where she doesn't have to work with these kinds of customers. And if she was having a hard day that day, I’m sorry for her. But, at the same time, we didn’t deserve to be...
Read moreA sullen menagerie of miserable staff who’d rather be anywhere other than serving you ice-cream. They strategically speak quietly so as to out you as a tourist when you cannot discern their mumblings. This is, of course, if your legs haven’t given out waiting for service at the counter.
I seated myself and allowed my friends to order for me, of course I was immediately asked if I had an “order number” by one of the staff (they don’t use order numbers btw)… no, madam, I sat down in your ice-cream parlour to take notes on your enthusiasm, of course I’ve got an order coming.
My order had a rose of ice-cream donned with a macaroon (or so the menu depicted). After some time, I realised they’d forgotten mine. Upon re-ordering with Eeyore at the counter, I received an icy lump of what looked more like a cabbage than a rose (minus the macaroon). Once again I walked to the counter, this time to enquire about the...
Read moreAfter a nice dinner nearby, I went for a walk, admiring the landscape as the colour of the sky changes to evening hues. What better than to combine that with a nice ice-cream. Ice-creams often go for €3 to €3.50 per scoop in Chamonix. Here, the prices are a bit more reasonable, especially crom 2 scoops up. They have a very wide choice of flavours, including similar flavour in many variants. Expect at least 3 very different chocolate variants and two strawberry variants, for example. The service was quick as they have a fairly efficient system, especially when it's busy. Tasty ice-creams and gorgeous mountain-views ... what more...
