We stayed here on a family trip to Chamonix and did not have a good experience during our stay. To start and to be transparent to all, there is no nearby parking. The nearest parking lot is an honest 8+ minute walk. This would normally not be an issue if we were able to drop off luggage somewhat close to the hotel. This is not the case as the road in front of the hotel is closed to vehicle access. Had this information been clear on their website or shared in the confirmation BEFORE we arrived, I would not have been as PO'd as I was. Power to anyone who wants to stay here in the winter and tote their luggage a long distance through the snow. ||This was compound by the individual who checked us in. He was NOT friendly, helpful and clearly we were interfering with his book reading. One of the grumpiest individuals I have ever encountered at a hotel. ||We were on the top floor as there was 4 of us and the room was small, but clean. While it was very warm during our stay we had to have the windows open at night to try and cool the room off to be less then 30. The challenge was, the neighbor was smoking and that quickly filled the room. The dilemma...sweat to death or get a head start on acquiring lung cancer. Solution....stay up to midnight, wait for the neighbor to quit smoking, get up at 6 when they start back up and close the window. ||While the room is very tired and could use a good renovation, there were a couple of positives. The morning clerk was MUCH friendlier, pleasant and polite. There were no issues with the plumbing and the room was fairly quiet. The only reasons as to why I am not giving this 1 star.||The best advice to someone I can recommend visiting Chamonix with a vehicle is to to confirm where parking is located and what their smoking policies are like. Needless to say, there is not a chance that I would ever...
Read more|We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in early September. The hotel is perfectly located, short walking distance to everything in Chamonix. It is an older charming style hotel, with some upgrades like plumbing, elevator etc.||The personnel was very nice and friendly. The breakfast for 12 EUR was a bit on a pricey side, but considering other options, it was a good value. It offered cereal, yogurt, fruits, cold cuts, cheeses, jams , croissants, coffee, tea and of course delicious French baguettes. Any ending supplies were replenished in a timely manner. ||Our room was on the upper floor. It was quite small, but there was also a loft accessible via steep squeaky stairs with 3 single beds. It contained a fridge with few drinks for pay and free safe for valuables, but we could not make it work. There was sufficient space for clothing and other belongings. Bed was comfortable. The windows could be wide open and the river was flowing just outside. At this time of the year we did not need heating or cooling.||Few negatives: ||The TV was way too small and placed on the table in the corner. Could not watch anything. Besides that, only French channels were available. ||The lighting was absolutely insufficient, needed flashlight to read anything.||The wifi sucked, especially in the evenings.||The hotel provides a "guest card" for duration of the stay, which is valid for all public transportation in the area, from Servoz to Valrocine. I think all hotels do that in Chamonix. ||Despite the negatives above, the hotel met our needs and we enjoyed or vacation...
Read moreI stayed at Hôtel Vallée Blanche in June 2023 with my husband on our honeymoon. Originally we had booked another hotel in Chamonix, but that hotel cancelled our reservation 2 months before our trip. In searching for new accommodations, my husband found this hotel available and it had good nightly rates.
We didn’t arrive in Chamonix until midnight on a Monday, but the front desk host was waiting for us when we got to the hotel. Check in was quick, and we were given a corner room on the 3rd floor. It was dark that night so we weren’t able to see the views until the next morning.
Waking up, we were looking out the window from our bed and could see the valley surrounded by mountains and glaciers. It was breathtaking! The room was decorated like a rustic alpine cabin which was a very fitting theme for the area.
Each morning we ate breakfast at the hotel pub downstairs. It was a traditional French breakfasts that always included baguettes, cheese, jam, and coffee. The hikes we wanted to do weren’t open yet because of the snow, so the host gave us some other great ideas of what to do in town.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel in Chamonix! It was in a perfect location for travelers looking to come to the French Alps for walking, hiking, skiing, climbing, etc. The hotel would also be great for a small family...
