This had been one of our favorite restaurants, but we had one of the worst restaurant experiences in recent memory at Beaurepaire tonight. I will omit many of the details, but the worst part was that we sat for more than an hour after our appetizers were finished waiting for our main courses to come out.
All of the wait staff was around, but when we inquired repeatedly about our meals, all any one of them would do is tell us that some other of the other staff members would take care of it. They passed our problem around like a hot potato. But no one did a thing, and no one communicated with us (in French or English, which we speak) while this was going on.
We asked to speak to the manager, who told us that he was working three restaurants tonight, they were short staffed, etc. We understand the challenges of Covid and are very understanding of this situaiton, but the resturant was full and no one else seemed to be having problems getting their food.
Perhaps the worst part is that it was clear that no one cared one way or the other whether we had a good experience or bad, no one communicated with us until we got assertive, nor did anyone have a desire to try to fix the situation. They just made excuses, until we paid for our appetizers after two hours, and left hungry.
The problem might be staffing, attitude, or management. But right now, I'd recommend that you avoid this restaurant. Maybe forever, maybe until staffing conditions are better. But the lack of any desire to make things right seems like it's not something that will get...
Read moreThis restaurant spoilt my visit to Paris. When the waiter eventually took our order after waiting for more than one hour, we waited another approx. 30 mins for the waiter to return to confirm that they forgot our order. Another 2 different waiters then tried to take our order. After waiting almost an incredible 2 hours, 2 out of our 5 main course meals were served cold. When the waiter returned after another 10 minutes the lamb was served with no meat. It was fat and bone only. In response I kindly asked for an explanation and the very rude female owner replied, ’you ordered it so pay for it and walked away?'. The total bill was 302 euros. When the 5 of us at the table agreed to pay 280 the male owner took the money then insisted we pay additional 29 euros. When we justifiably explained the situation he disgustingly reacted by blowing us a kiss. After paying the 280 euro for 4 meals he proceeded to physically assault me by grabbing and trying to pull me to the ground and threatening further assault. This restaurant and the owners have been reported to the Police. Their vile and disgusting behaviour has left my experience at Notre Dame Paris a bad one that I will remember for the rest of my life. WARNING: DO NOT VISIT...
Read moreWe were recommended this restaurant from our conceirge who provided us great dining experiences every single night. Although the food was high quality (the only reason they didn't get 1 star), the service we received from the front of the house was one of the worst I've received ever in my life. This is my third time in Paris and I never felt so unattended to and embarrassed to always constantly look around, just get a glass of water...just looking to be served. Believe me, we were extremely patient and to the point sucking in our pride to be respectful and not cause a scene.
Two families who sat near us, who came later than us, had bigger families than us, was served food, got their desserts/check, while we got out entrees. It was two months ago and felt the necessity to provide this review for feedback. Maybe we were the exception and we hope we were.
As we left Beaurepaire, the hostess ran up to us as we got to the street. She apologized for the awful experience and we felt the sincerety. She said, please don't think that Paris is like this and we said thank you for the apologies. We knew in our heads maybe it was just one of those rare exceptions in the...
