Had a terrible experience at this place today. Went alone in the evening and asked for a beer, which was good and the service was friendly and quick. However, when I asked to pay by card the waitress told me that the minimum to allow payment by card was 10 euro. I have been to quite a few places in France and I think this is extremely excessive! Furthermore, and worst of all, when I asked if I could go to the ATM just in front of the restaurant, she told me I would have to leave my bag in the table to make sure I didn't run away. I found this extremely upsetting and unprofessional, I still left my bag at the table as the people nearby seemed serious enough, but it was in the outdoors with a sea of people passing by as it was a sunny saturday in Paris. She didn't even stayed there to look if no one took my bag. I wonder who would be responsible if someone stole my bag! I had never been asked to leave my belongings in a table to make sure "I don't run away without paying". Absolutely would not recommend and would...
Read moreA week ago during the Olympic games we had dinner, along with our French friends at the Bibiche a Montmartre. The tables on a small square , crowded, vivid, with some traffic around. The food was very tasty, gourmet but not too much. The service relaxed, Parisian style, ok. I recommend the Camembert rôti au miel et aux herbes de Provence (hot Camembert cheese ,excellent along with wine), the Tartare d’avocat à la mangue, coriandre, menthe, sauce au piment d’Espelette ( a fresh avocado based salad, perfect for a summer day) and the Pavé de Rumsteack Angus au poivre, frites maison ( steak with french fries). I did not like the Araignée de cochon Duroc, jus de moutarde et purée maison ( grilled pork loin) because it was overdone, too dry, although the sauce and the potato puree were good. The prices, taking into account Paris, Montmartre and the Olympics, were reasonable.I will visit this nice restaurant in my next...
Read moreReally cute spot with good food! I was craving a steak frites au poivre and was excited to find this place near my hotel. I loved the decor inside which was warm and cozy on a rainy night. The service was good (they do have an English menu). The sauce on the steak was heavenly and I want it on everything I eat. The steak was cooked perfectly (I ordered medium which usually from experience comes out more like a US medium rare, my preferred cook). My only complaint was that the fries were pretty soggy, definitely could have used more time in the frier and also needed seasoning. I didn’t end up eating much of the fries but fortunately they did bring me some delicious French bread to scoop up more of the amazing sauce! I recommend stopping by if you are...
