Excellent Gourmet Meal, Veal, Chicken, Cheeseburger, Margarite Pizza Great Value, Excellent English- speaking Waiter/Others…Must Dine Here! Two senior citizen couples dined here after visiting the Louvre Museum. This is a newer restaurant that opened recently but the food, service and location was Excellent! Waiter spoke excellent English as did several workers including the Maitre D, I think named Hicheum. We were looking at the menu posted outside and after hearing us talk among ourselves asked if he could help us with questions in excellent English. He made sure we were seated with a server that also spoke excellent English. Impressive treatment! Great recommendations and daily special entrees by our server Mattheu. One of our couples had special dietary needs and they catered to them providing a full meal they could eat all! IMPRESSIVE! Very thoughtful waiter, chef and others. THIS RESTAURANT was the best of our four meals in Paris in June about a month before the Olympics. The restaurant was still full at 3 pm on a Monday and we understand. The veal came with several side dishes and choices. I had asparagus and seasoned potatoes; both were delicious. Cheeseburger was ordered with sweet potato fries and were very tasty. and all our food was served hot! We felt like we were treated like good old customers. We had plenty of water refills with ice as we had done the Museum tour and was very hot in there and then we walked about six blocks looking at menus as where to eat that would satisfy our group. If in Paris near this area, we would definitely dine here again and make a reservation as this restaurant is Impressive and do not want to wait...
Read moreSuch a disappointing experience. We visited this cafe for breakfast on June 20th at about 10 am. Everything was okay until we recognized the hostile and grumpy attitude of one of the servers here. I guess he is French or comes from a European country. He was a bit unwilling to explain the menu to my friend at first, but we did not take it seriously. But then, when he came to our table and processed the payment, his impatient and rude attitude became quite transparent, so I asked, "Why are you so impatient?". Instead of comforting the guest, he blamed me for not smiling at him the moment I walked in, saying that I had disrespected him by doing so. First, I did not think I was unfriendly, and second, it was not my responsibility to smile at him. He should have smiled at us first, as we were the guests and he was providing service. Finally, he ended his explanation for his impatience and rudeness by saying, "You should clean your head," which was clearly an insult.. I don’t understand why we had to pay for such an unpleasant experience. Feel like being discriminated (I guess because we did not...
Read moreWe came back before leaving town in hope to be served and welcomed by Matt and his main manager? Laurent for their sense of humor and professionalism. In fact, we were served by another tall guy, Yuri? At first, everything was great, the food is still lovely, cheers to the chef. The manager was really sweet and gave us all her attention. Yuri was kind and funny, everything was great. Until we asked for our check. As Americans, we actually got used to give a tip, but never when we felt any sign of begging or, asking and of course when the service worth it. Yuri, brought up the card machine and directly showed us the 15% tip saying « please you can leave a tip ». We really felt uncomfortable at that moment, we gave it but because we almost felt forced to… That was really disappointing… We are now out of town, please make sure it doesn’t happen again. For those looking for a good French restaurant, we recommend the cafè du louvre, ask for Laurent of Matt or even the woman manager. They...
