La Brigade - Opéra - Restaurant Paris centre — Restaurant in Paris

After a long day of walking we just wanna get some good food, and we did, however, i was very unsatisfied for the whole experience. Reason are as followed:

We wanted to change seats to indoor as people are smoking in outdoor dining area. But the server refuses even tho there are indoor seats (emptied for quite a while). We insist, and the server finally let us in. We are located to one of the table but the other server denied us for seating there, and bring us to the closest outdoor table instead, saying those are reserved (? refer to what I said it’s empty for a while).

Then, our order took over 40 mins to arrive. This is the most upset part. We keep seeing people who arrive later than us already got their food and almost done with it, we still be waiting our food, we are tired and hungry… we understand the culture here so I was in patient, but it really took too long. Maybe the kitchen forgot the order or what, I don’t know.

In these cases, usually restaurant will free your drink knowing that they made a mistake. These server doesn’t seems wanted to do that. When we pay we are expecting some reasoning, the cashier seems to notice our problem and went to other server, I don’t understand French but I’m guessing she’s asking whether we could free our drink? But the answer is no, we still pay in full.

What an incredible find! My friend and I stopped by La Brigade recently, eager to try their famous basquettes, and they definitely exceeded our expectations. We were two people and ordered one regular beef basquette and one regular chicken basquette, which was the perfect combination to share and sample their best offerings. The food was fantastic. Surprisingly good! In a dead tourist trap, we were starving after the morning Olympics. Despite appearances (& no air con), this ended up being a great lunch.

We each had a vegan cutlet & chips classique, then duck, steak (rare to medium), and sausage.
