Le Paradis du Fruit - Opéra — Restaurant in Paris

We came here as a party of 6. Each person ordered a drink and their food entree. The server had an electronic device to enter our orders and we watched her enter all entrees. About 5 minutes later, another server comes out to confirm one of the entrees and we were nervous they only had put in one entree. I went inside to confirm with the server they had SIX ENTREES to which they responded “yes yes!”. Then once the food was ready, only TWO entrees arrived - we waited about 5-10 minutes to which no one else received their meals. I went inside again to ask where the remainder of our meals were and then the hostess came out with menus asking what we wanted???? I told her we confirmed with the servers THREE TIMES we would be receiving six entrees. The hostess was apologetic; however, the server did not seem to recognize she missed more than half of our groups meals and did not apologize when I paid. Six years later, I returned to Paris for a taste of Berthillon ice cream. I was quite apprehensive walking to the shop because what if it didn't live up to the perfect ice cream in my mind's eye that I've been clinging onto for the past six years??

Alas, I can say with conviction again that Berthillon ice cream is the best in the world! After all my travels throughout Europe and America, nothing hits the spot as the first lick of Berthillon ice cream where you can really taste the name. I ordered honey nougat and the taste of honey was so pure and the nougat was a satisfying crunch to complement.

Unfortunately for me, Berthillon is closed on Monday and Tuesday and I had to leave early Thursday so I only got to visit once this time. But if you are in Paris longer, you should definitely treat yo'self to the best...

On our walk to Sacre Coeur we spotted Le Paradise du Fruit next to a couple of other establishments. It looked so much nicer than the others so we chose to refresh there. It was a Sunday morning so quite quiet although it got busy very quickly. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. He pointed out the barcode that we could scan to have the menu in English. We had coffee, a cocktail and the avocado with toast. The drinks were perfect and the food was amazing. When we asked for the bill we were given a barcode to scan so we could see our bill, pay it and also determine our service charge. This is a fantastic idea. We will definitely return.
