Le Select Vignon — Restaurant in Paris

Got a little lost - not the resturents fault but started the evening badly. Nice small French authentic but playing latin music. One of ty he waiters didn't speak english, but was rescued by his partner. I think both were part owners. Both polite enough. Food was ok, but nothing extraordinary. My dining companion had salmon. Nicely cooked but a small portion of sal.on. my steak was a little tough snd on the small size but cooked perfectly. Price was ok. All in all just can't find the justification for another star. Was supposed to get 40% discount through the booking but didn't happen, also waiter was cheaky on the wine. Recommended a wine and when i debated getting a bottle he suggested getting too glasses first. It was fine, but one pouring was a bit short as end of the bottle. When i asked for 2 more glasses he said he didnt have any more and would find an alternative - which never arrived. Feel a bit put out he just wanted to empty what...

Really nice place in the Madeleine Borough and very close to the M14 Madeleine Metro stop. The waitress was amiable and lovely, she made me feel at home. The food was exquisite and they mostly serve dishes of the French traditional cuisine: I ordered a lentils soup and vegetables poached eggs. Plus, the ingredients are top quality and the price, considering Parisian fares, is below average....

Horrific food. The chicken teriyaki was so inedible and the avocado so hard you could have used it as part of the cobble stones on the street. The only thing that saved my nightmare of a dish and what made it edible was the peanut sauce (which was ok) poured over my 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Worst place I've eaten in Paris in my life. The chef should maybe try the food before...
