We had a few ups and downs food wise on our three-week trip through Germany, Austria and France. I was therefore ready for a good, local meal and did some research. This restaurant popped up quite often and I booked the day before (do reserve, the place gets packed and we saw many people get turned away).

We had asked for a table outside and it was a wise choice as the weather was great and it was fun watching live pass by.

Staff were very friendly and attentive and drinks and food arrived in a timely manner. I had ordered a Cordon Bleu with Munster cheese (I do like my cheese ripe) and my partner ordered the Fleischkiechles (meat balls). Both dishes were excellent and I would rate this as one of the better meals we had on our trip. My only "regret" was that the portions were huge and I had to give the desserts a miss.

Highly...

We had a wonderful dinner during our one and only night in Strasbourg. We stumbled onto this restaurant by accident and are so glad that we did. We had a reservation, but it was probably not needed as the restaurant was not completely full and other groups got in with no wait. we wanted to try some traditional Alsatian foods, so we went with a tart flambé, as well as the sauerkraut with five meats. I do not usually enjoy sauerkraut, but this was phenomenal. Of course, we finished it off with a black forest cake. Our wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful, and all of the food was delicious. They were also extremely polite about my broken French. I would especially recommend the desserts, as well as the wine. If we ever find ourselves back in Strasburg, we will be sure to...

The spatzle aux petits legumes du marche mason and fleischkiechles de boeuf maison were excellent. These Alsatian dishes were the perfect cozy and hearty meals for a cold afternoon in Strasbourg. The interior was small and there were no open tables, so a reservation may be helpful if you are set on dining here. The staff were friendly and quick. We also had a molten chocolate cake for dessert that was delicious. We saw a lot of people ordering the flat breads, which looked good. Some of the negative reviews appear to be due to people ordering other dishes and not enjoying them or the portions, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and felt the portions were generous. If I am back in Strasbourg one day then I will gladly...
