Restaurant Au Petit Tonnelier — Restaurant in Strasbourg

DO NOT visit this restaurant. It was recommended by the hotel we stayed in. The waitress bought the wine and her mobile phone rang she walked away to answer it and left us to sort the wine out she didn't return until she served the first course. My husband ordered fois gras and when it arrived he couldn't get his teeth through the toast ( we believe it was bread left over from earlier on in the day) the courdon bleu chicken was burned, and the steak was stringy and cost 21 euros. We paid for the fois gras and the wine and walked out because the food was so appalling. However, the day before the hotel recommended CHEZ YVONNE which was excellent. if ever you visit Strasburg remember if you are travelling by car that the road signs have changed with many no entry signs so many car drivers didn't know where they were going including us. Apparently Google hasn't caught up with the recent change in road sings. If you want a good experience with a restaurant go to CHEZ YVONNE not Au Petit Tonnelier which has a white bicycle...

Beautiful restaurant with really nice staff and brilliant wine. You can enjoy a nice classy meal here. The positive point about this place compared to most of the restaurants in Strasbourg is that not all the items in the menu had red meat in them and you could also order fish or chicken based dishes. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that we went there for the chicken cordon bleu but they didn't have it for the night and there was no notice on the menu outside. I recommend reserving a table there if you want...

Nous sommes venus manger ce midi avec ma compagne. Cela faisait longtemps que nous n'avions pas mangé un aussi bon foie gras dans un restaurant. Si bien qu'à la première bouchée nous avons décidé de nous faire plaisir avec un verre de vendange tardive. Verres qui portaient bien leurs noms, puisque arrivés tardivement. En plat principal, nous avons opté pour un onglet accompagné de sa purée. Problème majeur qui fait que malgré de bonnes impressions gustatives, nous ne sommes pas certains de revenir : le plat nous est servi alors que ma compagne n'a pas fini son foie gras, et la purée s'est transformée en frites maison sans nous consulter. Nous ne sommes pas fans des frites, nous aurions du le dire, mais nous avons décidé d'être arrengeant vu la situation pressante des plats arrivant pendant que nous étions à l'entrée... Nous demandons de la mayonnaise et à défaut du ketchup, il n'y en avait pas, ça sera donc ketchup. Dommage, la viande était bonne et la sauce parfaite pour de la purée. Les prix étaient corrects, mais avec cette accumulation de petits détails, nous avons considéré que ce restaurant était finalement cher pour ce qu'il était, notamment vis à vis du service et de cette non considération des clients.
