The Dubliners — Restaurant in Strasbourg

We have been in the city on holidays for two weeks and we have had dinner in this place almost every night. They open every single day of the week, wich is not so common in France. Also kitchen does not close during their oppening hours. We chose this place because my husband loves guinness and there are not many places in the city where you can find it. Guinness pints are just perfect in this place, the guy that was pulling the beer was very proffesional, always poured them perfectly. Honesty, we have had worst pints in some places in Ireland. The food is also really nice. They ofer the classic pub menu with some finger food, salads, burgers, fish& chips...portions are generous and food is tasty and fresh and I'd say with kind of home made style. Quite close to the salads and burgers I'd make at home. It is also nice being able to see the kitchen from the bar. We saw it always very clean and with the food well organized. Very proffesional staff in the kitchen for sure. They do a great job. Service is also amazing. No matter how busy they are, they always find you a nice place and take care of you with a smile on their faces. The young team of waiters and manager were very very nice to us in this place. A lot friendlier than what we would spect being tourist unable to speak a word of French. I can only recommend this place if you fancy Irish pub style. Like the song says, “there”s an Irish pub in every town”… unfortunately anyone can call themselves an Irish pub if they serve Guiness and play Irish music… no Irish dishes to be seen! But you can have fajitas or a quesadilla! Picture this (attached), two people order a quesadilla and ask for sour cream. Met with a funny look. Then ask for sour Rahm (German), same funny look. Then Google translate and ask for crème aigre (French) and are told no, from the non English speaking French waitress. The burnt kindergarten culinary quesadillas come out with a side of sour cream… which we are told is quesadilla sauce :). You can”t make this up. In addition, the Gorgonzola burger was lifeless and tasteless, needed to add ridiculous amounts of ketchup to get a hint of any flavor! But on the bright side, the Guiness was good! There are other Irish pubs in town, I suggest you try...

Belle ambiance dans un bar irlandais

Accueil : -Très rapide par un serveur (moins de 5 minutes même en période de rush le midi), il prend en charge les commandes et nous a déjà proposer une table à l'intérieur s'il y a de la place -Sans réservation les fois où on a déjeuné là-bas

Prix : -Abordable même pour les étudiants, se situe entre 13-16€ pour le plat et la boisson (soft) -Nous n'avons pas vu de tarif étudiant -Pas vu d'happy hour renseigné

Temps : -Nous avons été pris en charge rapidement en moins de 5 min -Les plats peuvent prendre un certain temps, cela dépend des jours.. après y avoir déjeuné plus d'une dizaine de fois, parfois j'attendais 20 min, parfois 40 (tout dépend des jours même en forte affluence)

Lieu/Environnement : -Ambiance sympathique avec au rez-de-chaussée une télé diffusant les match, pareil à l'étage avec un grand miroir et des sièges plus confortables -Au rez-de-chaussée, les canapés sont vraiment moues... parfois on plonge dedans voire on s'engouffre dedans -Le vélo au dessus de l'entrée c'est original mais si ça tombe je pense que ça sera compliqué -Belle ambiance le midi comme le soir

Plats : -Menu du jour au top en terme de qualité/prix -Le fish and chips est sympa, juste dommage qu'il y ait peu de frites sinon le poisson est super bon et la panure tout autant ! -Pas trop fan de l'escalope à la crème, pas assez de viande et peu de frites aussi ; c'est dommage.. puis la sauce reste un peu fade, on reste sur notre faim -Les burgers sont ok, sans être mauvais ni excellent pour le prix

J'y déjeune souvent avec des collègues, des amis et aussi de la famille ! Pour passer une soirée là-bas pour voir un match ou discuter, il y a une belle ambiance. La qualité/prix laisse à désirer sur certains plats lorsque vous mangez là-bas. Les frites, les frites, les frites... il y en a vraiment très peu dans l'assiette que ça en devient un peu triste. Sinon la déco' est top surtout à l'étage avec de grandes et longues tables !
