Beware of an all gas no substance, possibly racist restaurant.
Writing this review on one of the most disastrous dining experience not just in Tbilisi but probably the entire world. My wife and I had a reservation here for 8pm and in fact reached the restaurant 15 mins before our reservation at 7:45pm. We were promptly seated and the restaurant also promptly accommodated our request to be moved to another table. Unfortunately, the good experience ended there. Our order was placed before 7:55pm. Next, we had to wait for 20mins for just the water to arrive at out table. We reminded 3 different servers that we really wanted water as our throats were dry but no one seemed to care. They were always busy serving other guests who had arrived after us. The delay continued with our sparkling wine (yes, we were celebrating a special occasion) 30mins and 4 reminders. By this point of time we were starving and really wanted something to eat. We requested multiple times to update us on the status of our order but by then the servers were in fact just ignoring us and going past our table completely noticing that we were asking for their attention. We then called the lady who was seating people at the restaurant. She also chose to ignore us and instead entertain other guests for requests to walk through their desserts on display. It was only when we said that there was a problem here that she agreed to speak with us. Unfortunately, all she said was that she will call the server for us. We then requested for their manager to explain what was happening with our order. Instead of sparing the time to come to the table, she/he just chose to pass the message that "if we like, we could leave the restaurant and our order would be cancelled". Eventually, we left the restaurant and came back to our hotel as we were starving.
Both of us are very seasoned travelers (collectively experiences 40 countries so far) and this has been the worst let down ever.
On a side note, reflecting about this experience, I realise that ours was the only table with a brown man. All other tables were being served while ours was ignored. While I would still give the benefit of doubt and not outrightly call the restaurant racist, I'm highly inclined to believe so...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at “Keto & Kote”, a restaurant that holds a special place in my heart!🥳🥳🥳
3rd place out of 7 from my list.
Review: 19/35😉
Objectively:
A few moments on top of all:
Subjectively:
I may say that I don’t really care about the scores for Keto&Kote, because it’s a place where I’m a regular guest and will visit more. Why: The ambiance is great, with courteous service representatives and delicious food. Just more attention and will be an amazing place!
P.S. I will say in advance - I do not have...
Read moreI've been there today to try lunch. Worst decision made in 2 weeks of trip in Georgia. We've ordered khachapuri and chicken salad. I've a nichel food intolerance, so we asked for the ingredients in the chicken salad. The waitress confirmed the ingredients on the menu (chicken, corn, walnuts, mustard dressing). When food arrived, we received something really different, containing lettuce, tomato, avocado and other stuff. We told the waitress that I can't eat that. We also told we were not interested in either the chicken salad and anything else, as at this point I wasn't trusting the menu and the waitress. After a while, the waitress told us that she couldn't cancel it because the dish was already prepared. She also said in a very pretentious way "it's a chicken salad, of course you have tomatoes and avocados, what did you expect? I cannot list all the ingredients, you should have told me of the allergies". Problem being, the waitress should ask for them, and we specifically asked for the ingredients of the salads, and not all of them were listed. As a result, we didn't even finish the khachapuri (if you can call it so, as it was made with puff pastry...) and decided to pay and leave. That's when the manager had the great idea to come with the check and tell us that it's not their policy and not their fault that this mistake was made, so they we're making us a favor by cancelling the order. I'm not the one for saying that the customer is always right, but how on earth you think that this kind of conversation can benefit you or your business in any way?
Final result: very nice looking restaurant where people who were completely unprofessional to us work.
I hope that this review will not be seen as an offence to anyone working there. Anyone can be wrong and have bad days, and unfortunately this time it affected me and my girlfriend. Hope that this is not this...
