Usually I hate to post any bad reviews and avoid as much as I can. Actually this is my first bad review. Restaurant is located in the heart of old town, at beautifully restored Gudiashvili square. BUT stuff is Russian. Interior is poorly copied from Georgian retro style restaurants, but tables are decorated with Russian scarfs and music is so terrible you don't want to listen. I heard the story about the owner and staff who is from Belarus, Russia and etc. But this is not the ONLY point. The only reason we stayed there (after we found out we were at very wrong place) , was that we didn't have time to go to another cafe and I still regret doing this. Waitress, (who is from Kaliningrad) spoke so poor English, she didn't hear a word not to bring tea in pot, so I was charged for 15 lari for one small cup of tea. Coffee was cold and tasteless. So called chocolate brownie was drier than any cookie baked one week ago. ''Deconstructed" cheesecake was totally non understandable and miserable. It had salty (very salty) bread crumbs called cheesecake bottom and cream overpowered with lime zest. I hate myself spending my 50 lari at this place. Shame. PS Since google doesn't allow to reply to owner's comment, I replying here: Dear Kobus and definitely not Russian Mariam, Thanks for your reply. First of all, the only reason I started to post more reviews recently is that I try my best to improve customer service in this country and get treated a little better where I spend my money. My intention isn’t and never will be to ruin someone else's business, so please take your words back. My intention also wasn’t to get a refund of payment unlike all sorts of influencers. No, thanks. As for miswritten information, I told Marim on the phone and it's fixed. Please, don’t bother yourself to copy your replies from Google and send to my private number at whatsapp. I already read this twice (first to someone’s comment who called deserters your Russian stuff and then to mine). I wrote what I thought - this is why public places exist and I still believe I live in a free world. Good luck in your business and in your private life.

If you are confused the "Valiko Bar" and the "Valiko Bar and Hostel" and the "Valiko Hotel&Bar" are one and all the same actual "Valiko Hostel & Bar". Google needs to clean this up into one entry. Although I believe it will soon change as they drop the hostel business. It was by a chance recommendation that we visited this wonderfully bohemian transformation created by South African proprietor Cobus and his Georgian partner, both of many talents. You can read more about its history in the description here, so I will only comment on the experience which is brilliant. If you only visit one place in Georgia this must be it. The old building it is housed in is literally falling apart, so they have used that to good effect and capitalised on the old-world feeling. Low-li scattered alcoves and little balcony’s overlooking the streets below are places to sit and talk with good background music that gets turned up later in the evening. Cocktails and beer are of course on offer, including their own chocolate-infused variation of the nasty local “chacha” rocket-fuel. From what we were told the “hostel” side of things is being shut-down and they will convert that area into more of the same on view in the public areas. A sound-proofed night-club is also planned for those who want that sort of thing. Though I suspect it will be a night-club with a twist. The Valiko represents everything I see Tbilisi becoming in the next few years – a place of wonderful transformation. They are very involved in the community too, supporting local business, so please show your support for Tbilsi and visit the Valiko.

Lovely cocktail bar with nice dinner selections. My only problem was when I asked if I could sit at a table by the bar they said it was OK. I ordered food had another drink and as soon as I had finished my meal, the waitress came up to me, after I had given her a generous tip and said “this table is reserved. You need to move”. She did not offer a different table, just rudely said, “you need to move.” I would not recommend this place or go back and management needs to do something about their reservations and put up signs if the table is not available but again I did ask if it was OK if I sat where I did and they told me I was welcome to. Update: A little disappointed that the manager/owner has not posted a response to a very legitimate problem they have with their staff

Good cocktails but the waiter refused to answer simple question to be helpful on purpose and make you look stupid in front of your guests!! I think he enjoyed to make a fool out of customer in front of others IDK!! All I wanted to know was if I can swipe my card on an orange machine he bring because I know that wasn’t my bank and I don’t know anything about banks in Georgia it’s less than a week I’m here so I just asked him is this going to work for TBC cards? Bc I have TBC. It’s a simple yes/no question!! I asked around 10times and every time he answered our tbc machine doesn’t work!!!! Ok I know it’s not working but can I use tbc on that other machine? Sorry our tbc machine doesn’t work!!! Ok! But I only have TBC card, is it possible to use other banks machine to pay? Sorry our tbc doesn’t work! Ok I understand but do I need to go and look for atm now or can I use that other orange bank?!!! Sorry our tbc machine doesn’t work!! And this exact conversation was going for about 20min without any answer from him and making fun of me in front of everyone instead of just saying yes!!!! This place is 5min from my house and I really liked the design so when I entered I see myself to come for my everyday drink but after this sadistic behavior from bartender I never ever want to even look at this establishment ever again! Paid to be...
