We went there tonight at around 7:30. 2 adults and 2 kids. Not that it matters but we have been traveling for 2000 km the last 4 days and being extremely tired and hungry nd in Tbilisi for just a day wanted to enjoy a traditional Georian place. Well this place was half empty. All of the occupied tables, that could easily fit six and more, had no more than 2 people, some even one, having just a beer. Noone greated us so we decided to pick a table ourselves. There were a couple of small tables that could suffice but were just under the AC and it was freezing, there were 2 or 3 tables for two and a very large table, kind of a community table. Sofar we have been wandering around for over 5 min already with the waiters all gathered around the bar, doing more important stuff. We decided to sit at one end of the large table alowing other people to have a sit there too. The moment our butts hit the chairs there was already a guy there, asking us to move to a smaller table. We tried to reason, telling him the other tables were either too small for a family of 4 or too "under the AC" which is definitely not fine for the kids, that all the other big tables had a smaller party, but he just smiled and repeated "извините". The others of course just went on with their usual business - doing nothing. We were left no choice but to leave. Well done boys and girls, you are just great in what you do! A piece of advice: You might think being a waiter is just a temporary thing for you, but for what I've seen it's probably going to be your lifetime job. Don't panic. It is a decent way to make a living. Just smile, be kind, polite and helpful. It is as simple as that. Think...
Read moreWe came here last night after a great experience at the other Pasanauri near Liberty Square. We order the same food, but the kharcho was distinctly more watery and less tasty than the other branch. The shmekruli chicken and khinkali were ok and nice tasting though. We politely made a feedback to the waitress (a young girl with short black hair) that the kharcho soup tasted very different, but the chicken was perfect. We were not rude in any way to her, in fact we were super polite. (However, we paid by card and we were running low on lari cash, so we did not tip- also we didn't think it was mandatory. Maybe this was the problem?) The waitress changed her attitude from friendly to completely ignoring us, even when we said "thank you" before leaving. Despite this, we came here again today to have dinner, fully expecting to give the tip back as we have exchanged more lari. First we were not given the menu, then when I took the menu and was looking at it, that same waitress came to us and told us the kitchen was closed due to a problem. At 5pm. There were tables all around us eating and nobody was asked to leave. I left without a word but I seriously doubt this was true. I'm not sure what happened and if it really was true, nobody even bothered to explain what was going on and why the other patrons were still around. This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had in Tbilisi and I would not recommend this to anyone. I hope the management can...
Read moreThe restaurant features attractive decor and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the staff were not very welcoming and had limited English-speaking ability.
The menu was challenging to navigate. In the section where the English names of dishes are listed, most entries only provided the Georgian names without any descriptions. Occasionally, the English descriptions were so vague that it was hard to understand what the dish actually was. For instance, one of the Georgian desserts was simply labeled "cake," with no indication of its Georgian name or any details about the type of cake. Additionally, out of the ten desserts listed on the menu, they had none available.
I ordered a veal stew, which I later learned was called Chashushuli. While the flavor was acceptable, it was made with mature beef instead of veal, and the portion was quite small—more akin to a child's serving. For context, I’m not a large person and typically don’t eat much.
Considering all of the above, I found the restaurant to be overpriced. I have enjoyed much better food at other restaurants in Tbilisi for...
