I had been looking forward to trying out this place, but I'm sad to say I had a very disappointing experience there.
I ordered one dish only - the rabbit shkmeruli - because I was told it was big and for two people. A waitress came to let me know that the kitchen service was changing and so she'd only be able to put in the order in 30 minutes, after which it'd be 15 minutes to wait. I'm patient and happily wait for good food, no problem. Someone then came to let me know that I should probably order more bread with it, since only one piece came with the dish and it was very saucy. I agreed. Five minutes later, to my surprise, the dish was brought to me... It was incredibly small, like 5 bite-sized pieces of rabbit in a small shallow plate, so I asked to also have the salad I originally wanted (but didn't get because I was told this would be so big!). Unfortunately that dish was really bad. The rabbit was dry, tasteless, lukewarm. The sauce wasn't seasoned, just garlic and thin cream barely salvaged by a herb oil and peppercorn berries. One of the pieces was also a bone, so I can confidently say that there was a maximum of 100g of rabbit in there. I cancelled the bread and salad, ate the few bites this dish consisted of, finished my glass of wine and left to have an actual dinner down the street. The only highlight was that glass of wine, which I picked myself, knowing it already (natural qvevri from Imereti). The selection for glasses looked good, though overpriced.
Food: Poor quality and ridiculous portion given what was announced - I'm used to fine-dining and rarely have a big appetite, so I don't like big portions, but this was basically insulting. Neither hot, nor seasoned, badly cooked meat (and rabbit is such a nice meat, what a shame).
Service: Very confused. Ordering wine was difficult, ordering food was difficult. The staff was friendly enough, but completely disorganised and gave me poor information.
Atmosphere: Comfortable seats and space between tables, but I could really have done without the pumped-up pop music blaring everywhere, or the Instagram girls taking selfies everywhere without any respect for other...
Read moreThe service was not helpful. The place is at most OK. We regret coming here. There are soooo many more exceptional places in this city, where you pay 10-20% less and have 100% more delicious experience. We feel like we fell into some type of a tourist trap. The rabbit was so mediocre it is sad, they served the WHOLE LEG, not a nice piece of tenderloin. It seemed like they just chopped it off and stoped caring about it since. It was incredibly hard to eat it and enjoy. The lavash and nadugi was not worth it at all. Nadugi tasted nothing better than a Philadelphia cream cheese with truffle. Food we had had NO resemblance to Georgian flavors. Don’t get me started on the extremely poorly executed mushroom potatoes, if not executed at all. It was just plane, no sauce, flavoring, bunch of potatoes and a slight hint of veggies soaked in oil. It is such a shame to cook something like this, call it a meal, service it, and get salary for this. We did not experience anything close to what is portrayed in this place’s social media or Google maps page. The service didn’t ask if they can replace the meal, offer something else, remove it from the bill- whatsoever. We had complained about the starters and potatoes. The only good thing about this place is the Sommelier and her passion for good wine. The wine she helped us pick made our evening way better and less annoying. At the end they offered us a dessert as a sorry and we took it home. I feel like communication and smoothness of the service was more complicated because of the language barrier. Most of the issues were because of the...
Read moreTerrible experience, would not recommend to anyone. Super overrated and overpriced.
Servise is below any standards.
I ordered a master class of Khinkali and khachipuri for 2 people when it was said to be max group of 6 people. When we came to this place it turned out that group of 18 was already waiting. And that’s where it got just worse at every step. Wine was offered only white and if you are allergic like me you have to pay for red wine. When red wine was served, it was even colder than white should be. Master class started half an hour later as the restaurant was not ready to accommodate such number of guests. Later we learned that we are not cooking for ourselves. In 3 stages only 7-9 people could participate in cooking and on 2 tiny tables. Later I thought we did personal khinkali just to learn that it will all be cooked in one pot and you will not eat your own made ones. Took too long to wait for all the food to be cooked. Instead of 2 hours we spend more 3,5h. Wasted time with frustrations. Far from average service. Far from hygiene etiquette. Still can’t understand why should I eat food from someone’s else hand on master class!
Such a disappointment after so many good days and good food in Tbilisi.
PS: only cook 👨🍳 was trying to manage the situation as much good as possible, but if you don’t have proper equipment and conditions it’s...
