From the moment we arrived at Umami Asian Fusion Restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the hostesses, who made sure our table was perfectly prepared. The first impression was already off to a great start.

The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, modern, inviting, and thoughtfully designed with stylish Asian influences that set the tone for a memorable dining experience.

Then came the food, mesmerizing in both flavor and presentation. The variety on the menu was truly captivating, offering something for every palate. Everything we tried was exceptionally fresh and bursting with flavor. It’s clear the kitchen takes great pride in crafting dishes that both surprise and satisfy.

But what truly elevated the entire experience was the outstanding service by our waitress, Tatiach. Her level of professionalism and kindness was unmatched. She spoke fluent English, was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, and had a calm, friendly attitude that made us feel so welcome. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she took the time to explain each dish with care and confidence.

After facing a few disappointing experiences elsewhere in the city, Tatiach’s service completely turned things around for us. Honestly, no exaggeration, it was one of the best service experiences we’ve had across all our travels. Special Mention to Head Chef David David not only guided us to the pure vegetarian and Jain options, but also helped us navigate the menu and suggested dishes that met our dietary restrictions. The taste of the food was truly amazing and worth every penny.

Navigating the Menu Without David's guidance, the menu could be quite misleading, as many dishes marked with a vegetarian symbol contained fish oil, animal broth, or similar ingredients. Thanks to David, we were able to avoid such items and enjoy a great meal.

The edamame was so old that had frozen burns, felt dehydrated, looked discolored and a mushy texture (look the picture below). This was follow by “rock shrimp popcorn” which was mostly dough and also felt frozen— the disappointment was abysmal. We had a roll so unforgettable that the name escapes me. Finally, the service was soooo poor and indifferent that we wanted to pay the check but the order taker completely disappeared! To have things in perspective there was at least 8 people walking in circles with, I think, 3 tables total inside but most of the order takers seem to be in happy hour with themselves I get their feeling I didn’t want to be there either. I say order takers because ours never say hello, she just said: “are you ready…”. LOL, tell me how bad your training was without telling me! STAY AWAY!...
