Thai Curry serves food in a humble venue; there are two small rooms and not too many tables. If memory serves, in the first room from the entrance, there are just four tables excluding a small table where the waitress sits. It is cramped. Space is also taken up by a beverage refrigerator, a freezer and a small bar. Owner's kitty was fast asleep on a chair of one unoccupied table; fine, I like cats! I saw two Thai women emerge from the kitchen now and then so assume that at least one of the two cooks. That was encouraging. I ordered spicy beef salad and red curry pork with one rice. When the rice came, I immediately ordered a second because the portion size was too small. Beef salad tasted fine but I missed slices of red chili; instead there were slices of red bell pepper. Still the salad sauce had some zing to it but it should have been spicier, It came with a fairly generous supply of sliced cooked beef; while I consumed all the beef, I found the beef to be a little strange with a consistency more like that of liver but it wasn't liver. I do not think I would order that again on account of the meat as I did not have confidence in what I was eating. Next I sampled the red curry. I thought that it was a bit too watery and it seemed to me that certain ingredients were missing like kaffir lime and lemongrass and match-size slivers of fresh ginger as well as thin slices of red chili. Nonetheless, surprisingly, it still tasted good. Perhaps certain ingredients are hard to track down in Georgia. I was still hungry so I decided to order stir-fry yellow noodle seafood. It was of medium size and I obtained five medium size shrimp and a few other varieties of seafood like a couple of squid rings. Everything tasted okay but some of the veggies, instead of being firm were overcooked and broke into bits easily requiring use of a spoon. These obviously were frozen vegetables rather than fresh ones cooked by steaming. Nonetheless, the dish was good but a little dry so I asked for soy sauce. However, the soy sauce I was provided was watery and tasteless so it provided some moisture but without any taste. Some inferior soy sauces, loaded with sodium, are just too salty but this one just had no taste; it probably had expired so if you like soy sauce, bring your own! I had a cold barjomi after the meal. Beverages are a bit limited in this venue; only alcohol on offer is Georgian beer. For what it is worth, they sell "Thai tea," whatever that is. Fairly fast service. The bottom line: I would go again. For all the shortcomings, the food had a Thai taste to it and was reasonably priced. At 66 lari without tip, no service or tax added, it was reasonable for the quantity of food consumed. I spent double that to eat a similar quantity of food in Seoul restaurant in Saburtalo but at Thai Curry I did not feel that the chef played cost-cutting games as at Seoul, where a grilled meat dish (bolgogi) is served up mostly with vegetables in place of meat. As a solo traveler, I liked the vibes of Thai Curry although, in my opinion, the subdued 70s/80s music did not add much to the ambiance and I could have done without it. It was also bit weird and puzzling when the elderly Thai lady (not the waitress but one of the two mentioned above), who, having emerged from the kitchen, would abruptly snatch the menu after you ordered and would then start profusely bowing. I would rate this venue at 3 1/2 stars "Good" were there...

As my main course, I selected the Massaman Curry, a rich and aromatic dish featuring tender chunks of beef in a creamy coconut-based sauce. The flavors were perfectly nuanced, with the combination of lemongrass, ginger, and aromatic spices creating a truly memorable taste experience.

Read moreWas really missing Thai food even though Georgian food is just as flavourful and delicious. Luckily stumbled upon this unassuming Thai restaurant (run by Thai staff and chef) which had photos of authentic looking Thai dishes displayed outside and only Asians dining inside. It looked promising. We ordered Tom yum, fried ginger, fried chicken (crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside), rice, and pad Thai to share, and I got Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was exactly as it is in Thailand. Everything was as authentic as it can get here, and every dish contains ingredients imported from Thailand. Sadly for me, the Tom yum wasn’t spicy enough, which I told the friendly server. She told me that I can tell her next time how I want the Tom yum and they will make it for me. :) She said she thought I was European, that was why they didn’t make it spicy. So if you want it spicy, you have to make a request when ordering. I haven’t tried other Thai restaurants in Tbilisi but this is authentic! will be...
