Iimori Vegan Ramen — Restaurant in Berlin

Summary: disappointing bland taste and nearly overcooked ramen noodles for tantanmen 3 stars; i don’t know why but I decided to give it second shot and had the delicious signature tonkotsu ramen and it gets 5 stars; this made Me edit the review and upgrade from 3 to 4 stars a mix of the two ratings; only 4 because I think the 2 key dishes both need to be great for a 5 star total rating

Dishes (- negative / = ok / + positive): Tantanmen: recommended by waiter, but disappointing bland taste, nearly overcooked ramen noodles; few toppings tonkotsu: the signature dish and its the best dish; well-balanced broth absolutely tasty; the pork is slightly crispy and not only fat as at some other places; the noodles at the second visit had a nice bite — 5 stars!!

Service: quick and easy friendly service 2nd visit employees are smoking across the street while you are eating outside, not a pleasant view; no more smoking at the second visit

Price: fair price for value; €11 for lunch menu

We came to this restaurant after we saw the high rating on the Google map but eventually left the place disappointed. ☹️ We’ve had many vegan ramen but we felt their ramen felt short in terms of the quality of the noodles, the soup and the vegan meat (or is that tofu?) inside. I personally didn’t think the noodles had a good synergy with the soup. The soup had a strange taste a bit similar to Annis (it’s hard to explain) which was strong enough to kill the flavour of vegetables. On top of that, the staff was full on a passive aggressive mode when we asked about the dishes we ordered. The atmosphere inside and outside of the restaurant is pretty nice though. A really cosy Place where I sometimes come. The Ambiente is in a cute nice Japanse Touch. The employee who work there are always super friendly, nice and fast. You never have to wait long for you food even when it's full. The Ramen what I had the Special Miso Ramen was delicious. The Noodles had the perfect chew consistency. The Miso Soup was tasty and had a very good flavour. The ingredients waren a perfect balance to the soup not too much not to less. The Sake was fruity and delicious. The Gyozas handmade. Just amazing with the little pond of soja. Tasting always amazing fresh and delicious!. Even the Ice moochi you have to wait like a couple of minutes to enjoy the fully joy of that nice pieces. The crew there today was amazing staffed. 👏 bravo...
