Das Lemke - Biergarten, Brauerei, deutsche Küche — Restaurant in Berlin

I just had a miserable experience here with my family. We entered the restaurant with my five month old daughter in her pram (annoying to begin with because there are steps to even get into the place) and stood and waited for the server to ask if we could sit anywhere. The server ignored us for upwards of five minutes. In the mean time, my mother in law found an empty table and started to sit down. The server finally came over to my husband and told him we couldn't sit at that table as it was reserved - even though there was no sign. My husband asked if we could sit outside, the served told him VERY rudely that no we absolutely could not sit outside. When my husband asked why not, as there were other customers out there, the server told him it was going to rain and then we would have to come back inside and there wasn't enough space. He then turned on his heel and left us no choice but to leave. It made no sense, the server was extremely rude to my husband, and I don't know how restaurants stay in business with such terrible wait staff. And for the record, this whole exchange was in German even though I'm writing this review in English to reach a broader audience. Please, even if you're a tourist, find somewhere...

Excellent place for beer and food. After a long day of walking and doing the tourist thing, we made a pit stop and this place was awesome. We weren't too hungry, so ordered beers and pork knuckle. FOOD: knuckle was the way we like it: plenty of skin, crunchy on the outside and juicy in the middle (some may say too much skin, but not for us). Potato and sauce were excellent also. The beer just hit the spot. We were looking for a decent IPA and this was it. Strong and full of flavor. SERVICE: our server was fantastic as well. We sat in the bar area, but still got plenty of attention and superb service. We did not have to wait for food, beer, or check. PRICE: Not expensive. Very affordable and this would have cost more if you were in Munich or Frankfurt. So, enjoyable the food and beer. LOCATION: good location. near a subway. Just follow the track and hard to miss. So, take a break and enjoy the pub if you are...

Fermatevi per una birra, non sarà la solita birra!

È un vero birrificio artigianale che serve anche gustosi piatti della cucina berlinese. Stile classico-moderno con bancone splendido a dare quel tocco in più che conferisce carattere al locale. Nell'altra sala, due grandi tini in rame trasmettono luce e calore all'ambiente. Durante la bella stagione ecco il cortile interno ad aumentare i posti a sedere. Atmosfera vivace, ideale per un gruppo di amici. Quando alle 4 del pomeriggio sono usciti super Mario e Luigi ho capito che avevamo fatto la scelta giusta! 😁

È un vero birrificio non una semplice birreria, nel senso che le birre sono di loro produzione, probabilmente prodotte a pochi metri da dove le berrete e già questo ha il suo fascino. Se poi aggiungete a questo che la birra o meglio le birre (classica Pilsner, viennese lager, Weiss, IPA, AMERICAN PALE ALE, etc) sono ottime, dal gusto deciso, allora, se siete nei dintorni di Hackescher Markt, fermatevi per una birra, non sarà la solita birra! Cucina tipica berlinese al di sopra della media se si considera che è un "semplice" pub. Prendete le sei birre da 0.2 su "tagliere" di legno e senza andare di fretta: gustatevele!

La storia è molto affascinante.... non la conoscevo e con il senno di poi dico che sono ancor più contento di avergli dato una possibilità. Tutto inizia in un garage di un amico dove Oli Lemke costruisce nel 1998 il suo primo piccolo centro di produzione per poi continuare proprio qui, in questo locale della stazione di Hackescher Markt un tempo abbandonato e da lui convertito in una fabbrica di birra grazie al coinvolgimento del suo gruppo di amici. Arriva così il successo e vengono acquisiti altri locali. È il caso del Leopold’s Brauhaus in Alexander Platz nel 2004, oggi Brauhaus Lemke am Alexe (Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 13, Berlin) , un’antico micro birrificio dove Oli Lemke avava fatto la prima esperienza nella produzione da stagista, del Brauhaus Lemke am Schloss (Luisenpl. 1, 10585 Berlin) in charlottenburg, vi consiglio di prendere una birra dopo la visita del castello, e del Tiergartenquelle, storico pub sotto la S-Bahn, al tempo un'istituzione per gli studenti, che dopo aver chiuso i battenti ha ripreso vita nel 2003 grazie a Lemke Berlin. Nel 2015 viene inaugurato un proprio centro di imbottigliamento. Che dire, hanno rischiato e sono stati premiati così come sono stato premiato io scegliendo tra i tanti birrifici artificiali quello dell'ingegner Lemke!
