Chez Michel — Restaurant in Athens

This was a really pleasant surprise as we didn’t set out to eat here but because of circumstances elsewhere we decided to give it a try. I’m in the restaurant business myself so perhaps some of my feedback matters more to me than it will to others. First, the hospitality was outstanding here. Everyone acknowledged us when we walked in and throughout the entire meal it felt like they all knew what was happening with all of the guests. Really good teamwork. Our server was top notch as he had great menu knowledge and was happy to make recommendations. The space was clean and beautiful and the patio looked amazing even though we opted for inside. Generally the food was good. I’m not from Greece so I’m not sure what the expectation for a neighborhood restaurant is in terms of value etc….but I thought the portions were actually too big. The bread service was really good. The Greek Salad was fresh. The spring rolls I’m not sure I’d order again but again too much food for that dish. The orzo with truffle and mushroom was creamy and earthy and cheesy super fun dish. Maybe a little under seasoned but nothing a pinch of salt couldn’t fix. The rib eye with chimichurri was pretty damn good too. Then, they came to us with a complimentary dessert which was really very kind. It was a mousse that was really good. The total bill was 119 euro and there were a few drinks we had as well. I would have felt happy paying 175 euro for the meal if I’m being honest so...

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at this incredible bar-restaurant, and it was truly a night to remember! The atmosphere was perfect elegant yet cozy, with a vibrant energy and wonderful music, that made everyone feel at ease and ready to celebrate.

The food was absolutely exceptional, with the finger foods stealing the spotlight. Every bite was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and ideal for sharing. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the delicious selection! And the cocktails? Simply amazing!

What truly set this experience apart, though, were the amazing managers, Vassilis and Marios. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. Vassilis was with us the whole night. His warmth attention to detail, and genuine care made the entire process effortless and the celebration unforgettable.

This was, without a doubt, the best birthday celebration we’ve ever had in Athens. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories created here and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended for any special occasion or simply a...

Earlier this week, we went for a casual lunch with my partner. I'm vegan and asked for an adjustment to one of their salads. The soba salad without tuna. The first waitress left and let me without answer. The second came already on her nerve. I re-asked if an adjustment was possible, like more mushrooms instead or the fish or something like that. She tried to make me change my order with another salad (but all of them had fish, meat or dairy inside). Then said ok ok ok and left (forgot to take my partner order...). They served me a half green salad half soba noodle with HALF of a mushroom. That was it. They makes me pay 11.50 euros for that! No adjustment of the price, although I didn't have any meat or fish in it and no extra thing. I told the waitress that I will pay even it's not right. No supplement of anything, not even a whole mushroom... She turns her head and left at the middle of my sentence! Apparently, they are NOT VEGI friendly at all! Rude and un polite with a pricy bill.
