Herbs' Garden — Restaurant in Municipality of Heraklion

I stayed here a long time ago for an occasion (wedding)- definitely recommend the accommodation as well, but this review is for the Herbs Garden restaurant.

I wanted to write this review to talk about how fresh everything in the restaurant was. The salads were delectable. I loved the rusks that were served with the greek salad.

I had the risotto because I'm a vegetarian. Greece has become a lot more friendly toward vegetarian cuisine options but Herbs Garden was extremely accommodating and offered a lot of change and substitution options for their dishes to be made vegetarian friendly.

Some of my dining companions had the fish and they cleaned the plate. This place has a really professional vibe, everything is coordinated. It is beautifully decorated and the staff is thoughtful. I think business groups would find the setting appropriate for work meetups and conferences and I'd also recommend it for events. I've seen a lot of weddings and events staying/eating and enjoying at this establishment....

Top Quality Food, Beautiful View, Local Wines, Attentive & Helpful Service, Reasonable Price. This rooftop place is a gem! A must if you are near the port. We had lunch in late October so we could choose a table with a great view of the Venetian harbour. Lovely to watch the yachts coming and going. I started with an Athens vermouth - sweeter than Italian or Iberian but a nice appetiser. We shared a Cretan spinach-like salad. THE MOST DELICIOUS AND HEALTHIEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! 😋

We decided to add this hidden gem to our daily activities as part of things to do at one of the cruise stops. Pictures shared here and on their website are no joke…relaxing to the beautiful view while enjoying delicious food and also having a fun drink. Yes, Not everything here is healthy😉!
