Worst restaurant in ALL of Crete... Beware.... We've been to a couple fo restaurants around Crete and gave come pretty accustomed to what to expect... But this restaurant takes the cake...
There's a man standing outside and you feel pressured to eat there, we agree after looking at the menu and get seated. We order our food and they served us complimentary bread.. just bread... Plain white slices of bread... I ask for some olive oil and the man is annoyed at my request and demands to know why I want olive oil.
We order our food and it takes about 30 minutes to receive the food. I ordered the octopus platter... Bland, mundane, and unimaginative dish, no seasoning what so ever and mind you that salt and pepper are not provided. The fries were drenched in oil and therefore soggy. The other people ordered gyros, salmon, and lamb kabob.... Unanimous opinion.... BLAND ... I would have received more flavour from a napkin... The ONLY saving grace were the grape leave appetizers stuffed with rice, actually very delicious.
We ask for our bill and when it's time to pay we are told they don't do cards (something they failed to tell us in the beginning), then as we are splitting the bill among the four of us, the waiter becomes extremely rude and is rushing us, at one point he says "can you just pay and you figure it out later amongst yourself, I'm very busy and I have loads of work".... LIES,the place still has customers, they are in no hurry at all and they're super slow, so I have no idea when all of a sudden the waiter had loads of work to do....
In summation.... Avoid this place and go to your local Gyro take out, they're usually better...
Read moreToday we stopped here with my family (5 people) and got a variety of their starters: eggplant salad, fish roe salad, spicy cream cheese, tzatziki, and crab salad. Everything tasted below store-bought quality and was definitely not fresh. The textures were weird and gelatinous , even the cheese.
The eggplant salad had no eggplant flavor at all, just loads of oil. The fish roe salad didn’t contain any actual roe (I’m a huge fan usually, so I can tell), and it was just neon pink paste.
The crab salad had fake crab meat, no real crab in sight. Nothing matched the pictures in the menu. We also got some dakos, which were completely tasteless. The only decent thing we had was a dish with mussels.
At first, I would’ve said the service was nice, the guy who took our order was charismatic and welcoming. But when it came time to pay, we mentioned that they should consider stepping up their food quality.
Instead of taking the feedback seriously, the waiter started mocking us and saying a previous customer “licked the plate,” instead of just listening. We explained that it was meant as constructive feedback and could actually help their business, but he kept his arrogant attitude and told us we didn’t know anything about Greek food.
For context, I studied hospitality university and my boyfriend is a chef.
Do not go here. We got tourist trapped. The coffee was nice though, so if you really want to stop by, maybe just go for that. The prices are way too high for...
Read moreDidn't have food so can't rate that. We were seated at a table for drinks and then asked 2 minutes later to move as they had a bigger party come in and needed the table. Bit annoying but we moved and then ordered drinks. We went for a no4 and no11 smoothie and a large beer. We then waited 15 minutes for the beer and 30 minutes for the smoothies The table we were moved from of 6 people, had already been served and finished before we even got our drinks. When the no11 smoothie arrived it looked nothing like what we ordered so I questioned it and he advised it was correct. It tasted nothing like cherry and had loads of seeds in. It was supposed to have cacao nibs in but there weren't any. They don't seem interested in good quality service once they have got you in and sat down. No offer to change it or discount it from the bill. Would avoid! What a waste of...
