I’m not usually one to make reviews or complaints but I felt the need to after dining at this restaurant. From the moment my wife and I walked in the waiter was rude and we told us we couldn’t sit at a free table that was empty with no reserved sign. He put us on a table that was cramped between 2 other tables. We waited 15 minutes for a menu and another 15 minutes for our table to be set with a plate and cutlery which we later realised was for the bread and olives that we never received. Looking around we were made to feel not worthy of their time. The service we received was pathetic compared to other tables, which had their attention all night and the way we were spoken to was extremely rude (even taking into account he may not have felt confident speaking in English). We got a dessert menu placed on our table but no one returned to even ask if we wanted any dessert. After 20 minutes we hailed down the waiter for the bill and then waited another 20 minutes for him to return with bill and they couldn’t get us out of their restaurant quick enough. They couldn’t even wait for us to put the correct money down. Their sign states that it is a family restaurant but we were definitely not made to feel like that. The food did taste good but the portion was small and service really was terrible. I wouldn’t waste your time when you can find some other nice small Cretan...
Read moreWe went there with some friends for dinner. Unfortunately the experience we had with the food was not good. Let me get more specific. Staff was very polite and friendly. The problem was the food it self. Although the restaurant is considered as high quality and expensive, it did not meet our expectations. It has a limited menu, with something like 15 dishes in total. Personally, i ordered a grilled salmon, a very standard plate, which came uncooked! i mean that there were some parts that were still raw. Furthermore, the "purre" was very flavored, while of a small quantity. The rest of the group ordered a meatbal with french fries, an octapus with onions, and linguini with shrimps. The only average-valued dish was the linguini with shrimps. All the rest of the plates were bellow average in taste. Lastly, my wife found a long white hair inside ball with the olives. I could accept the fact that bad days exist in all businesses, but for sure we are not going to visit this...
Read moreGreat food and atmosphere! We really enjoyed the vibe which was very lively and maybe a bit chaotic, but in a really nice way. Much better than anything on the main street right next to it.
We had the "triangle pastry with seafood", fish carpaccio, and sea bream as a main. All of them really delicious (especially the appetizers).
The service was good too, especially the main waiter (we assume) who was charming and very helpful in selecting our dishes. Though during the more busy hours (after 20:00 on a Saturday in our case) you may have to signal the waiters to get attention.
Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Heraklion but looking for something less touristic with great food, great atmosphere and...
