Disrespectful drunk owner. My friend and I were excited to try this place out tonight. We went around 6pm. Everything started out great. Drinks and food were delicious and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. However, it seems that one of owners (tall man with long hair) walked in EXTREMELY drunk and being belligerent. I was at the end of the bar when he bumped into me as he came in smoking a cigarette in my face. When I scooted over to get away from him he asked “is this seat for me?”. Without looking at him, I said no. He continued to be completely unprofessional behind the bar that even his workers seemed uncomfortable by his actions and couldn’t really tell him to leave. At around 7pm he started screaming “all the ugly girls need to leave” “afuera las feas” MULTIPLE TIMES. We were rushed out and told they were closing the bar early. Again, the bartenders were apologetic and it’s not their fault. But the man, who was not very good looking himself, was literally screaming at me to get out and kept calling me fea (ugly) as I was grabbing my things to leave. I completely ignored his comments and left in a hurry. They closed the speakeasy shortly after. Definitely was not the experience I was expecting. I can only assume he was the owner by how comfortable he felt being so disrespectful to everyone around him without fear of...
Read moreTruly overhyped. we were so excited to come to the bar after a friend who had visited Antigua last year recommended to me. After doing some research, it seemed like they were making extravagant and unique drinks based on someone’s personality, but the only questions they asked when we came in was what liquor we wanted and whether we liked it sour or not. I was truly shocked when I saw the drink come out. It was mediocre at best and the “presentation” was just a drink with a tiny flower and it’s sitting on a plate with cards embedded in resin that made no sense. When I complained to the waiter that it made no sense and how disappointed we were, he pulled out 3 more “plates” and offered it to me to increase the aesthetic of the drink. We told him that this was incredibly disappointing and that I shouldn’t have to choose a plate if the whole premise is for them to read our personality and make us a drink according to it. We ended up leaving and they waived the bill bc we didn’t even touch the drinks. I hope they bring back the flair they...
Read moreDefinitely a must do if you visit Antigua. This bar is a hidden gem. You have to know that they do not have a cocktail menu. You just tell them if you prefer something, flavour, sweet or sour, your favorite spirits and they will offer you something amazing that the bartender will create for you. It's just a show to sit and watch how they create all this state of the art drinks. We were seating at the bar and we had first row seating to enjoy and talk to the bartenders! They even let us take a picture behind the bar.
Don't miss the unique and amazing coasters they use for each drink, all different and all super cute.
One thing to note, the place is small so they do not allow too many people inside to keep everyone comfortable, you might need to wait outside if it's not enough room for your group, but totally worth the wait.
The bar is hidden inside the Antigua brewing Co, you get in using the red telephone cabin. You can enjoy drinks in the bar outside while you wait to get...
