Pub Game Up! — Restaurant in Budapest

My partner and I chose to spend her 30th birthday in Budapest. As we were waking to our hotel on the day of arrival, we happened to walk past this bar. So of course, in the evening of her big day we had to drop in. We were not disappointed in the slightest. If you are a board gamer then this is the place to be. The collection has been curated with love and their database of games that can be accessed through a QR code on every table is amazing and has lots filters options. But you can also just look at what’s out on display as well. The lady who was working that night is Laura and she was sooooo welcoming. She spoke so highly of the bar and their love of games and was so nice when talking to us. She has a passion for games and the bar that really shined through to us and should be commended. The artwork around the bar was beautiful and I saw paintings of things I keep on my own desk (looking at you archer meeple) My partner and I felt instantly at home and will do our best to go again during our visit and would recommend this to anyone in the area. Great location for boardgames in the center of Budapest.

If you are in the are and like boardgames, this is the place for you. Its a small yet coasy place to play some good old boardgames with friends or family. All the games are for free if you stay there (over 200+). They also offer drinks (both with and without alchohol) and some pub style snacks (nachos, breadsticks [Ropi]). If you are planning to visit over the weekend or later in the day you will need to make a reservation as they fill up this place very fast. Toilets are OK, but nothing to write home about. Really great place to get together with friends or colleagues to have a fun board or card game night. The variety of available games is almost endless, there are so many to choose from. The games are also in good condition, no missing pieces or torn up cards. The staff is friendly and very helpful, restrooms are nice and clean.
