Overall, I'd say the food and service here is good. The one caveat I must qualify this with is that most of what we were served is not the same as what you would find in a traditional Japanese restaurant. It's the Chinese version of Japanese food.

The miso ramen I was served was very tasty and enjoyable, but I am sure no Japanese person would consider it real ramen. The noodles were just wrong, and reminded me of thin spaghetti out of a box. The cha-su (barbecued pork) used in the ramen was actually pretty good.

The breaded fried shrimp curry rice my wife ordered was much closer to what real Japanese curry tastes like, although it is what you'd get from the packaged "curry rue" you buy in the supermarket, and not the "homemade" curry taste you usually find in a curry restaurant in Japan. But again, it was still quite good.

I liked their version of gyoza, and again, it's very different from any gyoza you'd find in Japan. First, the dumplings were deep fried, not pan fried. Second, they were served with drizzles of two sauces on top, along with a small dish of ponzu for dipping. Also the filling was not the traditional ground pork with chives and ginger. All very nice, just different.

Service could have been a bit better. The (English speaking) servers were good, but my wife's shrimp curry rice was served about ten minutes before my ramen arrived, and the restaurant was not busy. Not good.

Bottom line, if you come here with no expectation of traditional Japanese food, you'll probably enjoy the meal. The ramen, shrimp curry rice, gyoza and two small Asahi beers totaled just north of 15,000 forints, including...

Not recommended - Sunday (2.6.2024) - Normally I never left the date when I review a place but today I had a very negative experience here so I had to do so hopefully the owner can read this. Me and my family entered and order our food at around 20:30, we order 5 main dishes for 5 people and takoyaki. The waitress wrote down the food and even read throught it again to confirm it with us. Yet, they only brought up the food for 3 out of 5 people. My parents who was very tired and hungry at that time, had to wait 45 minutes for just 2 bowls of ramen. I came downstairs to ask about their food and the takoyaki, it turned out that the waitress forgot about our food and said that she forgot to enter those dishes into the machine (that was what they said to us). At the end, my parents finally got their ramen it was underwhelming. We received just a simple ‘sorry’ from the staff and got no discount for the experience that ruined...

To be honest i live in the same building as this restaurant and trust me , YOU DONT WANT TO EAT THIS FOOD . Whatever they cook smells like rotten dead animals , in 10 years of living in budapest ive never seen a place smell worse . The whole building entrance is filled with the most disgusting smell you can imagine . Im sure the products used in this restaurant are rotten and well expired.

UPDATE : so after my review the restaurant owner as you can see started threatening me and you can clearly see the way of thinking this owner and restaurant has . Im happy with their reply since this will only be more proof for me in my case which i have filed against this restaurant. Just to mention when you smell such disgusting smell from a restaurant , definitely you wont be eager to try their food so im happy ive never ate there even though the disgusting smell spreads all over their shop and...

I had the takoyaki as an appetitezer, and black garlic ramen as a main dish. The takoyaki was freshly fried, crispy and very delicious. The ramen was outright amazing! The soup was very rich, and had a deep strong savoury flavour, the noodles had a bouncy texture, and the marinated eggs were nice and sweet. My partner ordered the spicy ramen which was also delicious and had a right level of heat. For dessert, I ordered the matcha mochi, which had a deep matcha flavour to it, and the texture was very pleasant. The service was really good and quick, if you sit upstairs, you can actually just press a button if you want to call the waiters, or press another button if you would like to pay. I love the design of the restaurant as well, will definitely be coming back here :)!

First ramen restaurant in Budapest (out of ~5 others that I tried so far) that the soup tastes like a real ramen! Tonkotsu broth had a unique smooth taste, ajitama was properly boiled, and the overall experience including the wait time and service was great. Couple of things that can be improved though: - better chashu (it tasted like a regular ham, could have been a bit authentic and roasted) - ajitama (egg) was not fermented - serving size is a bit small for a ramen - i ate the whole thing and I still felt that I can eat something else, usually I’m full before finishing a properly sized ramen (especially tonkotsu) Other than than Im happy to find a proper ramen shop in Budapest.
