Verne Gipsy Restaurant — Restaurant in Budapest

Don't be discouraged in venturing into this great restaurant amongst the tourist restaurants in the surrounding area. It was the perfect find with great service and good food!

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, the only mishap was dirty cutlery on the table which the staff quickly replaced, and the appetiser that was supposed to feature pate came with butter instead because they were out of pate. It would have been nice if they informed us before substituting the ingredient, BUT they also gracefully gave us the best gypsy bread to make up for it.

Would highly recommend this restaurant to all tourists...

The food was not that bad but the atmosphere generally and the service was very bad. A big family of them joined the restaurant and keep in mind that it is small. They started shouting all the time and literally all people that were there felt discomfort. It was difficult to communicate even.

Then the service... The lady and the gentleman there only cared to take the first order fast and that's it, they wouldn't even look at the table again...

Never again there....

We’ve been to this restaurant twice for dinner and had an excellent experience both times. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the service is always smooth and efficient. The food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavour — you can really tell the quality of the ingredients. Everything from start to finish was perfect.
