I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wabi Sabi, located in The Oberoi, and it was an experience that surpassed my expectations in every possible way. The elegant ambiance, attentive service, and exquisite dishes combined to create an unforgettable evening.

From the moment I walked into Wabi Sabi, I was captivated by the sophisticated yet warm atmosphere. The interior is a perfect blend of contemporary design and traditional Asian aesthetics, creating an inviting and serene environment. The soft lighting, tasteful décor, and comfortable seating all contributed to a sense of relaxed luxury.

The menu at Wabi Sabi offers a diverse range of Asian delicacies, and I was excited to explore the offerings. I started my meal with an assortment of dumplings. The presentation was immaculate, with each dumpling crafted to perfection and served in a bamboo steamer. The dumplings were a delightful medley of flavors and textures. The delicate wrappers were thin and translucent, encapsulating the succulent fillings beautifully. Each bite was a burst of flavor – from the rich, savory pork dumplings to the delicate shrimp and chive dumplings, every morsel was a testament to the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The accompanying dipping sauces were the perfect complement, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them.

For the main course, I opted for the chicken dish, which turned out to be a highlight of the evening. The dish was elegantly presented, with vibrant colors and an enticing aroma. The chicken was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The sauce was a harmonious blend of spices and ingredients, striking the perfect balance between sweet, savory, and umami. The accompanying vegetables were crisp and fresh, adding a delightful crunch to the dish. The portion size was generous, and every bite was a pleasure.

To cleanse my palate and conclude the meal, I chose the wine sorbet for dessert. This was a unique and refreshing choice that provided a perfect ending to an exceptional meal. The sorbet was smooth and creamy, with a delicate balance of sweetness and the subtle complexity of the wine. It was light and refreshing, with just the right amount of tartness to cleanse the palate. The presentation was elegant, with the sorbet served in a chilled glass and garnished with fresh berries. It was a delightful and sophisticated dessert that perfectly encapsulated the restaurant’s blend of traditional and modern influences.

Throughout the meal, the service at Wabi Sabi was impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. They were quick to offer recommendations, answer questions, and ensure that every aspect of the dining experience was perfect. The sommelier’s expertise was evident in the wine recommendations, which paired beautifully with the dishes and enhanced the overall experience.

In summary, my dining experience at Wabi Sabi in The Oberoi was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of exquisite food, elegant ambiance, and outstanding service made for an unforgettable evening. Whether you are a lover of Asian cuisine or simply looking for a refined dining experience, Wabi Sabi is a destination that should not be missed. I left the restaurant with a sense of satisfaction and a desire to return soon to explore more of the culinary delights they...

So, the missus was deep in college mode, leaving me on kid duty. Solution? A fancy lunch at Wabi Sabi, a spot that apparently believes in finding beauty in the "imperfect." My wallet might agree with the "imperfect" part after this.

It's tucked away next to the Polo Club and Lapis, all serenaded by one very busy singer. The restaurants are basically neighbors with different personalities – Wabi Sabi's is all sleek black, red, and dark wood. Very "elegant, but don't touch anything." The lazy Susan on our table was the real MVP, though.

We went full culinary assault: Shroom Redemption (earthy!), Dragon Heart, Smokin' Salmon, Chicken Gyoza, fancy Edamame, Wabi Sabi Chilli Chicken, Ruby and Gold Pillows. Then came the Shrooms Ramen, a bowl of pure comfort. It was rich, deeply flavorful, and had this amazing earthy depth – like a warm, forest hug in a bowl, absolutely perfect for a Sunday afternoon. We also had Garlic Fried Rice.

For dessert, a Cherry & Sparkling Wine Sorbet and Wasabi & Cointreau Gelato. Yes, you read that last one right.

Most of it was genuinely good, especially the stuff that tasted like a forest floor (in a good way!). Service was polite, if a little hard to flag down on a Sunday – my arm muscles got a workout.

The only real "wabi" moment? The ice cream. It looked like it had been through a fight with a scoop. Lacked the finesse of everything else.

Final damage: over ₹13,000 for three. Ouch. But hey, the kids had a blast, so I guess the "imperfect" price tag was worth it for their "happy" smiles.

You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how many times you return, and in just one month, my partner and I had already been back to Wabi Sabi three times. Each visit has been an absolute delight, and it's quickly become one of our favorite places.

The hosomaki rolls were the absolute highlight of this place. The sushi was fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. The flavor was so much better than other renowned places I've been to, including Nobu. We ended up getting the Otoro (fatty tuna) and Hamachi (yellowtail) hosomaki rolls all three times because they were simply perfect—the best selection out of everything we tried.

Beyond the sushi, we also indulged in their dimsum and yakitori, both of which were amazing. The restaurant also offers excellent cocktail pairings that go perfectly with the food.

What truly sets this restaurant apart is the incredible service. The staff was excellent and very attentive. By our third visit, they even remembered us and offered us a free dessert, the Strawberry Fields Forever. This dessert was light and perfect after a heavy meal. They also gave us a small gift as a token of their appreciation since we visited so frequently.

This place is a must-visit. The food is phenomenal, the drinks are perfectly paired, and the service is second to none. I’ll definitely be visiting again. I think their sushi is going to be hard for anyone...
