Tamarind Restaurant and Poolside, Colaba — Restaurant in Mumbai

Strongly NOT recommendation this restaurant and hotel.

We book 51 seat for private dinner event, 51 seat almost full restaurant, in begging, restaurant tell us , they can provide a private place for our important event. We are from overseas, local agent recommend this place, that's why we choose here.

They don't have ability to organize big group dinner, especially MR SASHI SINGH, manager of hotel and restaurant. He tell us , the venue he also need to provide service for hotel guest.

If we didn't pay extra money than hotel guest will come to our private event, they can't give us venue. Its totally BLACKMAIL. We don't have choice, we need to let our event continue, so we immediately pay the payment to buy extra seats, actually 51 people already full the whole restaurant, but he just tell us he can put more seat to sell dinner to other guests.

No need to mention, how poor their service. Our group regret to have dinner party here, and MR SASHI let us know, its blackmail issue which media always report nagative about India. Greedy, lie.... Restaurant don't have enough ability to have the big group event.

We rent the crystal venue for conference and 51 group dinner. But they are greedy.... Give who first time visit India have very bad immage because of your team.

NEVER COME TO THIS HOTEL FOR BIG GROUP,...

I will book dinner for 51 people in the beginning all areng and talk nicely so I was thinking all good because they have good location so service also good as they promise and I have only 40 people but I told I pay you for 51 people please do not allowe at dinner time any other guest from our dinner time because it's our private party but I was thinking they manage all good but I am wrong. Then on dinner time 02/12/024 Suddenly Mr. Shashi say our restaurant have capacity of 65 people so you need pay for all 65 Seat then they not allowe otherwise we allowe outside people in same restaurant is this joke ? I pay for 51 people and Suddenly you blackmail me and I have no choice because my guest eating if I not pay they allow all people come to eat then i pay for 62 people for private dinner really it's not good when you get regular work because Cholan Tour recommend to us so we go with but I don't know top management check ya not this how they behave with guest it's not good . No one want service at restaurant inside they say it's fix menu can't service then call many time finally they ok we provide service only vip people rest we don't care what is this ... You good location all good if management like really who want come .

Where could I possibly start?! The location, the ambience, the hospitality was top notch. Then came the food.... We ordered paneer tikka and veg. biryani (which was the chef special).... As soon as the food arrived, we were served by Survesh. His service took the experience to a whole new level. The paneer tikka was , indeed, mouth watering and exquisite. Perfect blend of spices and smoky tandoori flavour but we didn't know that what was coming was much more than this. We were served Veg biryani..... Who says that biryani can't be veg. You must try out this here. One of the best dishes I have ever tasted. Our compliments to Chef Anil for cooking us such a great meal. The accompaniments were as good as it can get papad, pickle, mix veg raita and mint chutney. They refill the goodness too.... The cherry on the cake was 'Fresh cut Alphonso Mango with Vanilla Ice cream'.... I can't remember when have i had such a hearty meal before. I would definitely visit Tamarind soon. Lovely and rememberable...
