Clear Café Ubud – A Hidden Paradise of Flavors and Vibes!
If there’s one place in Ubud that completely stole my heart, it’s Clear Café. From the moment you step in, you realize this isn’t just a café—it’s an experience. The unique interior design, the soothing ambiance, and the iconic sliding pole (yes, you can literally slide your way down like a kid again!) make this place one of a kind.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because WOW! Hands down, the best salad I have ever had in my life. Every bite was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavors that made me fall in love instantly! I never thought a salad could be so exciting, but Clear Café has completely redefined what a great salad should be. Every ingredient felt like it was chosen with love, bursting with freshness and perfectly balanced flavors.
And then came the Nasi Campur with Fish Soup—an absolute masterpiece! The combination of aromatic spices, tender fish, and rich, comforting broth made every spoonful an unforgettable experience. It’s the kind of meal that makes you close your eyes and just savor the moment.
Beyond the food, the ambiance is pure magic. The space is designed with an almost Zen-like energy, blending nature, art, and comfort into a setting that makes you want to stay forever. And let’s not forget the sliding pole—how often do you get to slide your way into a café? It adds a touch of playfulness that makes Clear Café stand out from anywhere else in Ubud.
If you’re looking for a place that serves soulful food, has an unforgettable atmosphere, and offers a truly unique experience, Clear Café Ubud is an absolute must-visit. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!

Read moreMy first time in Bali, this restaurant was recommended. Entering, I didn’t feel any warmth. Still, I was curious about the food. Checking out the website it is full of slogans about being a family, and, and, and… I could not find the name of the owner on the website. That wasn’t a good sign either I ordered grilled tuna. There were two pieces on top of brown rice, which wasn’t fully cooked. One of the pieces smelled very fishy, a sign, that it wasn’t fresh, the other piece was more cooked than grilled. I returned it, and did get some decent grilled tuna-the staff was nice.
I still felt that something about the place was fishy and did some research. It was very very difficult to find the name of the owner. Not a good sign. I finally did find some information and that was not very pleasant.
As someone else already mentioned, that the owner is under investigation for a major multi multimillion dollar fraud. The friend who recommended the place remembers the flyers/advertisements about a real estate project in Bali, from a few years ago. She felt, she could have been a victim of that, because it sounded so good. This is life, some people are just out to make money and exploit the naive, smartly buying into peoples desires. We also need these kind of people to wake up. Everyone has to decide for themselves, if they want to support such...
Read moreThis place came up as one of the top cafes to visit in the Ubud area when we went blog-surfing for recommendations. My friends were surprised when I picked this place because it was listed as a great place for vegetarian food options, and I'm a big meat lover.
Getting here on a Grab taxi was easy. The driver stopped according to the GPS, but the signboard for Clear Cafe wasn't "Clear", at all (pun intended), but you could tell that's the place just based on the number of people in front of the entrance - definitely a popular place.
We were each given a recycle bag to carry our shoes in since the place is a shoes-off premise. The place was nicely done up. There were no air-con unfortunately, but there were sufficient fans to ensure it wasn't too warm.
We ordered the Fish & Chips, Margherita, and Jamur Fettuccine Alfredo. The fish looked really small, but it was actually pretty filling, and most importantly, fresh! The Alfredo was nice, though personally I'd have preferred a little more cream sauce. My favourite was the Margherita, though. The crust wasn't too thick, and it was rich in flavour.
I definitely recommend this place for good food in Ubud. They also have a Clear Spa located in the same building, but that requires prior booking, and we didn't know about it beforehand. Perhaps...
