Where do we start? The good or the bad. Let's begin.
We had a reservation for 9 pm. It so happened that we got free from our prior commitments and simply walked in here around 7 pm to see if we could push our reservation to 8 pm. At this point, the restaurant was already full with people waiting outside for a table.
The reception told us that all slots were booked and that they would do something about it if we came back around 8 pm and so we did. After five minutes of wait, they did give us a table seated outside, while there were some ten people waiting for theirs. So, extra points for standing by their word.
The restaurant seemed small, and at times very compact to sit in, I felt that we'd bump our legs or arms into people sitting adjacent to us or maybe accidentally drop their plate off the table. But beyond that it was a beautiful place nevertheless. The air conditioning in the outside doesn't work much, but they have big rotating fans that do a decent enough job.
The ordering experience was interesting, they give you a card and some stamps to make a selection to customize your meal, there are so many options to choose from that it'd take forever to order. To make it easier, they also have a preset meal menu that you could order from if you're not in the game. We wanted to order their signature pumpkin meal but it was sold out already.
The service was great, if not outstanding. The place was very crowded and the staff does their best to attend to every customer but there were a few miss, like we had to wait longer to get the bill and then a bit longer to make the payment waiting for the machine.
Now, coming to the food. The food is very visually appealing without doubt but lacks soul. It's great to look at but doesn't fit right on your tongue. I did not find it suitable to my palette, or in general the Indian taste buds, as none of my other group liked it, the food was too sweet for our liking. Every dish was sweet, it seemed like everything had peanut butter/sauce in them. It was like eating at a confectionery than a restaurant, I mean it in a nice way. If you are into that kind of cuisine or someone with a sweet tooth, you may enjoy it but it just wasn't for us. The only saving grace or the star of the meal was the mango pickle and the grated coconut sides. In a nutshell, the food left our palette disappointed but our camera jubilant.
You could try this place for the experience and social media validation but not for the food unfortunately. The owners do seem like they care about their customers, so good luck to them and my...
Read moreHad this place recommended to us so many times so had super high expectations! Upon arriving my first thoughts were how beautiful & well groomed staff were as well at the interior of the restaurant is very modern & chic however it is very small, quite a lot going on & when it’s busy you feel as if you’re sat on top of eachother. Now talking service, staff were super friendly, however when ordering my drink i specifically asked for ice and straw, when it was brought over there was neither so had to get this changed. Then over to food, my partner ordered the chicken skewer bowl & i had a make your own. I ordered a picked cucumber bowl to come along side with my food however it was brought out before this, i asked the gentleman if he could ask for this to be brought out with my food however a few minutes later she had brought it out again & i had to repeat myself to say i wanted it with my food. My partners bowl was just so filled with really dry salad. My bowl , the red rice was nice as well as the veggies on my plate , especially the potatoe fritters 10/10. The jack fruit curry was awful, i love jackfruit however couldnt believe how bad it was here. Really dry, no flavour whatsoever. Didn’t eat much of our food and ended up having to order more food when we got home as left feeling extremely unsatisfied. When our server asked how our food was i told her my concerns & wasn’t even offered and apology. Overall i do think this is very overrated however maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes but we personally wouldn’t come back. However can’t fault the staff...
Read moreWhat an aesthetically pleasing place! 🤩 From the moment you step in, a delightful smell of mint essential oil hits you refreshing ✨️ Very polite and helpful staff👌 Such a clean place 👌 Bathroom was clean and tidy with a flower essential oil diffuser, eliminating any smell. I was impressed to see the sunscreen moisturising cream there as well ✨️🙌🚻 Sooo tasty drinks 🍸 😋 I had mango smoothy, and hubby had turmeric one. Highly recommend mango smoothy 🤤🤤🤤 The choices were huge! It was so hard to decide 😄 but staff were very helpful and suggested options 🙌 I had chicken skewers with peanut bowl, and hubby had a teriyaki chicken bowl, both with pandan rice and salad🥣 We recommend both as we deeply enjoyed them and it was a shame not to finish them but we had to in order to have space for the dessert 😆🍨 Thankfully, there were mini desserts, so even being quite full, we were able to try them as well as I have a sweet tooth😁
For dessert, we tried: Pandan lime🍋💚 this is definitely the winner one (even me being normally not a big fan of lemon/lime). So refreshing 😋 Mango mille 🥭 this was the second best👌 a lot of mango, creamy layers 😍 Coconut balls 🥥 I had many expectations as I am a big coconut fan, but they were a bit dry, so definitely to be consumed with a drink 🍸 make sure you eat one with coconut flakes it comes with 👌 Peel-me cake 🥮 🍥 last on the list. It's very tangy and sticky, hard to cut with your spoon 🥄 not a big taste, nothing special.
Highly recommend...
