Kulkul Beach House — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

We had a family lunch here. Overall, the place almost lives up to its Google rating, give or take — I’d put it at a solid 4.4.

Food: Simple and decent, but nothing that will blow you away. Service: Friendly and polite, though sometimes you need to wait a bit before they notice you. Drinks/Cocktails: Okay, more like typical pool-bar style drinks than refined cocktails. Cleanliness: The restaurant is neat, and the toilets are clean and air-conditioned — not something you find everywhere.

As for the food: it’s fine, but don’t expect anything spectacular or surprising. I had a beef burger, which was with two patties but still felt a bit small (and I’m a big guy). The meat itself was tasty, though the toppings were a bit basic. I even added some veggies from the kids’ burger plate to make it more enjoyable. The highlight for me was actually the French fries — surprisingly excellent.

My wife chose the poke bowl salad, which she rated between good and very good, and she enjoyed it. My son ordered chicken skewers, which unfortunately were bland and unmemorable; we left most of them. Luckily, he also had sushi, which he did enjoy. Finally, my daughter had the kids’ sliders — three mini-burgers served with the same great fries and fresh veggies (salad, tomato), which made the dish more complete and enjoyable.

Drinks were okay — refreshing, but more in the category of poolside bar quality than craft cocktails.

Service overall was pleasant. The staff are friendly and genuinely try to help. Since they also cover the pool and beach areas, it can sometimes take a little while to get noticed, but once you do, everything goes smoothly.

Overall: A nice spot with decent food, great fries, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere — just don’t expect anything...

Located within The Laguna Resort, Kul Kul Beach House is a fun spot with live music, yummy drinks, and a late-night 2-for-1 happy hour. The vibe was lively, though the staff the evening we visited seemed newer and were harder to get the attention of. They also had some trouble applying the associate discount correctly—once during our evening visit and again the next day when we stopped in for a cocktail.

The pandan espresso martini was good, though it tasted much like a regular espresso martini. The standout was a pandan cocktail served with a coconut dessert (I forget the exact name)—absolutely delicious, not too sweet, and the perfect dessert cocktail.

Evenings can get a bit loud depending on the crowd, but the location is excellent—right by the pool and overlooking the beach—making it a beautiful place to relax...

The kitchen prepared two rather simple dishes (seafood pizza and burger) for us but both were exceptionally great! Highly recommended!

All the cocktails were excellent and we will definitely come back. Prepare for the Germans 😂 The barkeeper (Bagus) truly knows his craft!! Amazing. Try the Bali Mule when you’re here!

The music sometimes is a bit loud but that’s not a problem at all actually. Just something sensitive people should be aware of 😉
