OMG 10 stars!!!
We finally tried Prego Italian restaurant in Nusa Dua — and I regret not coming sooner, as it was our last night here. It’s located just behind the Westin resort; you can enter via the waterfront walk and pass through the stunning Westin lobby.
The restaurant has a cool, elegant interior with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed and started with a glass of Bali wine and sparkling water. Complimentary warm bread and butter arrived shortly after.
Our waiter for the evening, Aswin (I hope I remembered his name correctly), was outstanding. He made excellent recommendations — even suggesting dishes I hadn’t noticed. The menu looked so tempting it was hard to choose, but Aswin was helpful and genuinely passionate. He explained the new menu items with such enthusiasm, and it really showed in the experience.
His recommendation, the mushroom lasagna, was divine. I also had the burrata, which was rich and beautifully prepared. The carpaccio was hands down the best I’ve had — delicate, with truffle and other flavourful touches that elevated the dish.
We had a great chat with Aswin, who proudly told us about the restaurant’s hydroponic garden — we even went to see it. Maintaining something like that in Bali’s climate is impressive, and no doubt contributes to how fresh the salads taste.
A huge thank you to the chef — the menu is thoughtfully crafted and truly tastes Italian, which is a rare find in Bali. The prices were also surprisingly reasonable for the quality — easily comparable to fine dining, but at normal pricing.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Nusa Dua.

Read moreWe had a lovely dinner at Prego at The Westin Nusa Dua and were truly impressed by the whole experience.
The service was excellent – the team was smiling, attentive, and professional without ever being overbearing. It made us feel genuinely welcome while still giving us space to enjoy our evening.
We started off with some glass of wine – both the cocktail menu and wine list were well curated, with good choices all around. As we sipped our drinks, they served us some warm focaccia bread with butter, a small but thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening.
For food, we ordered: Carpaccio di Manzo Parma ham & Burrata bruschetta Mama styles meatballs (Polpette) Tortelli ai funghi and a Kid’s Cheeseburger for our daughter.
We truly enjoyed every dish – each bite was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and reminded us of dining in Italy. Everything felt authentic and lovingly prepared. Thank you Chef!
For dessert, we had the gelato (pistachio, limoncello sorbet, and stracciatella), which was absolutely perfect – not too sweet, just right. The tiramisu was good, though we would have preferred the biscuit to be a bit more soaked in coffee for that rich, classic texture.
The venue itself is nice, modern, and bright – but it’s also a very large space, which makes it feel a little less cozy and intimate than we would have liked.
Overall, a fantastic Italian dining experience in Bali, and we’ll happily return next time we’re...
