I am sad to have to write this review but I hope it serves as constructive criticism because I think the restaurant itself is worth it.
I booked a table for two at Amuri for dinner last Saturday night. We arrived on time and were asked to wait because the table wasn't ready yet.
Anyway we waited for about 20 minutes. I can understand the wait, it was a Saturday night in the centre of Dublin and the restaurant was packed to the rafters. When we were told that our table was ready, we were given a rather small high round table. The fact that the waiter tried to sell it to us as a comfortable table was something I didn't understand. I can understand that for some people it is comfortable enough, but I tell you what, most people would not want to dine at a table like that for an hour, hour and a half at least.
Once we were seated, we were treated to a glass of sparkling wine. It was a nice touch, yes, but it didn't really make the situation any better. If I make a reservation at a restaurant like this, the least I expect is a comfortable table for dinner. After talking to the manager and being told that there were no more low tables for us to sit at, we decided to leave. Imagine looking for another Italian restaurant in Dublin without a reservation at 9:30pm. We ended up at Dolce Sicily where they gave us a table without any problems and we ate wonderfully from start to finish.
The point here is not to compare them, far from it. My point is that I was really looking forward to enjoying Sicilian food because I am a huge fan of their gastronomy and the treatment we received left a lot to be desired. Not to mention again the fact that I made a reservation in advance, I didn't arrive there without it, which in that case I would understand.
This is simply the result of poor booking organisation on the part of the restaurant, of course. I will come back because I am sure that the food is worth it and I am aware there is a lot of effort involved in running a restaurant but PLEASE, improve the organisation and do us all a favour and don't put this kind of tables in...
Read moreStepping into Amuri in Dublin isn't just a dinner reservation; it's a transatlantic trip straight to the heart of authentic Italian hospitality. From the moment you are greeted, the warmth of the atmosphere makes you feel like part of the family. This isn't just Italian food; this is cucina prepared with skill, passion, and the freshest ingredients. The menu at Amuri is a masterclass in elegant simplicity, focusing on quality over complexity. The fresh pasta dishes are an absolute must-try. We have tried scallops and the “white lotus” (tempura halibut). Then as main we have got Trofie con crema di pistacchio and tagliolini Montalbano. As dessert, a fantastic tiramisu and a typical Sicilian cannolo (ricotta is homemade!) You can taste the dedication in every bite of course presented to you. The commitment to sourcing high-quality, seasonal ingredients shines through, elevating classic dishes to new heights. What truly sets Amuri apart is its deeply personal and knowledgeable wine list. It is a curated journey through Italy’s lesser known, yet immensely rewarding, vineyards. We had our glass of prosecco and an amazing Verdicchio. Every bottle seems handpicked to tell a story and, crucially, to create the perfect pairing with the menu. It's clear that the same passion put into the cooking goes into selecting the wine, making Amuri a destination for wine lovers as much as foodies. Amuri is a gem created by Luca and Andrea. The combination of exceptional, authentic food, an engaging and carefully selected wine list, and genuinely warm service makes it a standout in Dublin’s dining scene. If you are looking for a true taste of Italy, prepared with love and served with the best pairings, look no...
Read moreHad one of the most delicious, most surprising, and most enjoyable meals I've had in a long time here! I am so delighted this gem is here in Dublin and seems to be thriving - we arrived early on a Saturday evening, and within an hour, the place was filled and quite lively.
Gorgeous interior and fantastic staff. We felt incredibly looked after, glasses always full, and food brought to us quickly (but not too quickly!).
The food was so exciting, and several times we looked at each other and exclaimed something like, 'This is crazy! I've never had something quite like this before!'
Starters: Caponata on foccacia - flavor combination unbelievable Burrata & tomato salad w/ basil oil - I need to know where they find their tomatoes!
Mains: Lamb ragu on tagliatelle w/ nduja - surprising spicy and sweet notes in a warm savory dish you just want to swim in Caserecce with pistachio and guanciale - one of those dishes we took a bite of and immediately said, 'This is MENTAL!' And then started planning our trip back
Desserts: Tiramisu in a moka pot - glorious, sweet but not saccharine, surprisingly light Basil mousse w/ marinated blackberries and sorbet - again, another dish that was delightfully surprising and exciting and confusing in the best way
All washed down with a crisp, fresh bottle of Sicilian white wine & a White Lotus cocktail and some limoncello for dessert.
Already can't wait to go back. Messaged multiple friends while at dinner to arrange...
