5 MUST-TRY Restaurants in Dublin (Foodie-Approved!) đŸœïžâœš

I see so many 5 stars here, and I just can't. I ordered from this place in December, and the experience was so traumatizing that I absolutely have to write a review now many months later. There are many reviewers who seem committed to the idea that this place is "authentic". While I highly doubt that it is, who cares? It just needs to taste good. It's probably in the top 5 worst meals I have had in Ireland. I know this is very mean, and Irish people are very nice. I just have to be honest, because there are so many unfortunate souls who ate this and somehow felt compelled to share the joy of that experience to the world. That joy will sadly mislead someone. I will start off by saying that the delivery took 2 hours. I am normally chill and don't mind to wait, but again, 2 hours. We call, and the person on the phone was friendly enough. We were informed the rider was lost (I do not know how you could be lost finding our building if you possess our eirecode, and phone number). This rider was with the restaurant and not Deliveroo. Didn't bother to call us. Suddenly after I placed the "where are you" phone call the rider appeared 2 minutes later despite providing no further information to assist in locating our building. Maybe having a smoke? We are not off to a good start; but the food is here, and at the end of the day that is all that matters. I will cut to the chase -- there was a mysterious seafood shell in my tonkotsu ramen (see picture). A shell. The sushi (see picture) looked like (see picture). We ordered many things. If I could encapsulate depression in one meal, it would be this one. Whoever rated this a 5, I pray for you.

If you want to try noodles, this may be the place for you. My boyfriend asked for the noodles and the broth was amazing, he said it was one of the best that he ate in Dublin. But I asked for the sushi 4x4 (just salmon) and for the tempura prawns roll and was very disappointed. First of all, half of the sushi was way too spicy and that might be my fault, because I asked for the sushi and couldn't handle it.. so here's a heads up if you like spicy but in moderation. But even so, the rest of the sushi didn't feel fresh. There were just 4 more pieces with salmon and it didn't taste right. The other pieces were with crab cake and the other with prawn and the prawn one was very "muchy". Overall the rice didn't feel good too and it wasn't well seasoned. I felt a bit sick eating. Also the size of the sushi bite is very big. The only thing that felt good was the avocado. We also asked for the miso soup and it was a nice flavour, but even tho it's small, after a while the flavour is overpowering. I feel a bit weird giving this review because the staff were very nice to us and the space was also very welcoming. They have other plates and maybe they are better, but if you are going to eat sushi, I don't recommend it.

I came across Banyi thanks to a friend and as its close to where I live I thought it would be great to meet in a different spot after a checking out a movie with a friend. Both of us aren't known for out love of eating out. We are known from drinking out in bars with good selections. We kind of too that same mentality there as well. So it was lucky that they had so really tasty cocktails. So writting this review probably wont help convince your tastbuds but more about the over all experience.

We were immediately greeted at the door by I think the manager of the place. The wait staff showed us to our tables and we looked over the menu with an idea of what to have but a little unsure. This was no problem for the staff. They took time even though it was busy to speak with us and get an idea for what would be good to try(apart from any cocktails we could get our hands on hehe)

Baring in mind it was reasonably busy i figured we might have a bit of a wait, but to our surprise the wait had more to do with the excellent presentation of each course serviced. I had a sushi dragon (not sure on the exact name) which was 8 pieces of sushi with a prawn centre. It had a prawn head and tail and look awesome. My friend had the steak teriyaki, which was a great cut of meat done medium rare. Regardless, it was laid out beautifully.

The staff were humours and friendly as I said, this was shown perfectly when I had to ask for a fork instead of chopsticks. This really put me at ease so I didn't feel like a total fool out in public.

The desserts we had were a chocolate fudge cake and a green tea soufflé. Both had a green tea ice cream that was great and a real difference as you normally don't get to try different flavour ice creams when getting a dessert.

I've seen some reviews making an issue out of price to a degree. Having said that for the level of presentation, for the location and for the staff, I would have expected to have paid a lot more. I'm really looking forward to going...
