My colleagues and I, a group of 12, had lunch here at the end of July 2025. The restaurant itself is lovely—the private room we booked was tidy and clean, and the overall atmosphere was great.

Unfortunately, our initial interaction with the service was very disappointing. I asked our first waitress a simple question about a starter—the menu listed "prawn" in the singular, and I wanted to know the portion size to see if it was suitable for our large group. Her response was immediately dismissive: "I don't know, it depends!"

I politely tried again, asking how many prawns were in the dish. Her aggressive reply of "Of course not one!" was completely uncalled for. I was simply trying to understand what we were ordering. My colleagues were visibly surprised by her rudeness, and it cast a shadow over the start of our meal. A customer should be able to ask a question about the menu without being met with hostility, especially when a waitress should have this information.

To be fair, this experience was isolated to that one employee. Every other staff member who served us was kind, professional, and a breath of fresh air. In fact, when a colleague later ordered more prawns, a different waiter helpfully asked if they wanted the small or large portion—exactly the kind of information the first waitress should have provided.

It's a shame, because the food was amazingly good. While the restaurant has many great qualities, this one negative interaction significantly impacted our experience. Awful customer service from a single employee can truly ruin a meal.

Because the food and the rest of the staff were so good, I would still recommend this restaurant. However, based on how I was treated, I don't feel like going back...

I have been supporting this business more than 8 years. I get on well with the owner and other senior waitresses. I come back tonight as usually I ordered hot pot. I ate it, enjoyed it and before I left. I gentle asked new waitress to pass me few containers as my friends were ordering too much and I didnt like food to be wasted while my people is starving at the momen so I took those food with me. That waitress backed to the table and raised her voice on me. I didnt aware that you can not take hotpot food left over. I then told her "If there's policy in your restaurant , I'm more than happy to obliged. I wouldn't packed hotpot food the first place but no need to speak to me with your high tone of voice. It was really unpleasant to me. Period" She took my plate and walked away unpleasantly. Frankly, food is delicious a little overpriced but atmospheres is nice thatshy I come back all the time; however, if they want to keep this business going, the owner should maintance and deliver the highest service to...

Great place to get a huge heaping of food for either yourself or for a large group of friends. I went here with my school for a lung after my YCT Chinese exam and I have to be honest in saying that I had an absolutely wonderful lunch. I'm not certain as to wether it was a deal for us specifically or if there could have been a set menu at the price we were given. However, for €15, I had an immense amount of food that was cooked beautifully. The dishes ranged from succulent seabass to killer Kung Pao chicken to scrumptious Singapore noodles. The restaurant is really big as compared to how it appears from the outside and the seating area is fabulously decorated. I will definitely recommend Lao Chinese and Korean BBQ to many of my family members and friends due to the sheer quality of the experience I had here. Because of this, I have to recommend this establishment to all. If you happen to end up on Parnell Square with an empty stomach, give Lao Chinese a try, you...

Overall a lovely place to eat. One of the fewest places in Dublin I actually enjoyed the food at. Went with lovely Chinese friends of mine and they were the one who recommended some dishes. Two of the four that we ordered were brilliant 😁. The other two were just meh 😕. I am not sure what even the name of the dishes were as they ordered from the Chinese menu. So if you are as confused as me, from the pictures, the item that has lots of stuff in around white noodles and we are adding some sauce to it, it's good. And it's Chinese name is 五彩拉皮. The second good item was the one with white bread like items around it. That was really really good. And it's Chinese name is 私房牛腩. So if I were you, I'd order those two. Just show them these two and you'll be set. Really lovely experience 🤗. Might suggest to go with a fellow friend who can read Chinese or understand it better and they might be able to recommend better dishes. Would surely visit again.

Me and my husband were there for the first time on Saturday afternoon. We arrived few minutes after opening and the place was already half full. While being there it filled quickly and more customers were waiting to be seated. We ordered hot pot for the very first time and it was amazing experience. Very messy and funny. For messy part some people had plastic apron on which we might order next time. Funny because food you can add to your hot pot didn’t have description so sometimes you didn’t know what you eating. But overall it was something different and tasty so for that I recommend it. Will definitely come back, this time with some knowledge about how to make our hot pot the best for us.

Very large open table, great for hot pot and friends. The food was good with multiple options for dips, meats and veg. Nice atmosphere and quick timing for our table. The staff are incredible bad with service. They ignored us for the whole time, it was very hard to grab their attention and when we did they had little patience to understand our orders. Also one of our group members had an allergy which confused the staff. We were worried something had wheat in it because nothing was labelled well.
