I came here with my friends for dinner this evening and was blown away by the pizza. I have had PI before but it wasn’t as good as it was today. I got the Nduja but added prosciutto and requitto peppers. It was absolutely fantastic. First of all I want to talk about the crust/dough. Perfect texture and flavour. This probably comes from the 0/0 flour and 72 hour resting of the dough, the way it’s suppose to be done. I find a lot of restaurant find it difficult to use the wood fired oven. They think just cause it’s there it’ll make the perfect pizza but that’s not the case if you don’t really know how to use it and circulate the pizza to maximise the focus of the heat. But as I said, it was done perfectly with added depths of flavour coming from the char in the crust. The Nduja itself is a really well balanced pizza. The spice of the Nduja with the sweetness of the honey drizzle honestly is a taste sensation . I’d recommend the requito peppers for added sweetness and texture. All in all the best pizza I’ve had in a very very long time and I’ve just moved back from New York, so I’ve had a lot of good pizza. I have to mention the roast garlic and herb dip. Pairs so well with the pizza. Only negatives about my visit was the service was a tiny bit slow but to be honest it’s a very chilled vibe in PI so that’s the feel they may be going for and also restaurants are adjusting to extra safety procedures due to Covid. I will 100% be back soon. Fantastic meal.

The food was ok but the service was truly terrible. There were five of us and they added a sneaky 12.5% service charge to our bill. See photo attached, completely hidden cost. According to their menu this should be added for groups of 6 or more. When the server came with the card machine she passed the computer to us to choose between the option of adding another tip percentage to our bill, without alerting us to the fact that she had already added a hidden 12.5% to our bill. Thankfully we had. noticed this! We paid our bill at 22:50 and we were finishing our drinks when 5 minutes later a server came over to tell us that the restaurant “actually closed a half hour ago and we had to leave”. They had already started hovering around us. Not sure why they accepted a table at 21:50 if they were barely going to let us sit there! Just to try and sneak their 12.5% I suppose. The server stood at our table then watching us finish our drinks and ushering us out, outrageously rude guy! Horrible experience. Used to love this restaurant, won’t be returning.

As we waltzed into Pi pizza from the cold, wintery George’s street, we were greeted by the comforting warmth of the roaring fires of the pizza oven as well as the welcoming staff. We were seated in a comfortable bench to overlook the atmosphere which was reminiscent of the interior of an upscale bowling alley. The wonderful melodies bumping from the speakers could get anyone in a dancing mood! I was incredibly pleased by the plethora of vegetarian options, and decided to go for the pizza of my fatherland- the New Yorker. The server was so kind as to appeal to my request for fresh basil (slayyyyyyy). The pork n pineapple pizza had no sauce, but who would know? It could turn even the most polar opinions on the topic, maybe even solve world peace. With the abundance of pizza options, as well as the amalgamation of personal options, Pi George’s Street adheres to everyone’s lustful tummy requirements. Raffaele Esposito (the inventor of pizza) would shed a tear at the edible art that is being portrayed at this lush establishment.

Have been here many times over the years. First, let me say, they do really great pizza.

Unfortunately I feel like I won't get to enjoy it again after a recent experience.

I was in a party of 6 and we had just enjoyed some delicious pizzas and some drinks. When the bill arrived, as is sometimes the case when you are part of a group of 6, it appeared there was a 12.5 per cent service charge added to the bill. I have no issue with this. However, rather than being labelled as a service charge, I believe it is labelled "6+". Again, no real issue with this. The problem arose when the waiter dropped down the card terminal. Before paying, there was a prompt on the screen asking if i wanted to add 10%, 15%, etc. As I wasn't 100 per cent sure the additional charge that was printed on the bill was a service charge, I asked the waiter explicitly "can I confirm service is already included on the bill". To my shock, the waiter said that it wasn't. When I pointed out the charge on the bill, the waiter initially said this was a tax. This sounded wroung as it wasn't vat so I asked again and was then told it was a restaurant charge but not a service charge. At this point I was worried there was some miscommunication as what he was saying didn't make sense so I then asked "can I confirm that this charge on the bill isn't paid to staff" at which point he confirmed it wasn't. I found this very strange as the amount on the bill really did appear to be a service charge and was equal to 12.5 %. My initial feeling was one of Ill will toward the restaurant for charging a service charge but not passing it on to the staff. However, when leaving the restaurant we asked another waiter about the charge and they confirmed it was a service charge and was paid to the staff. So effectively, I was served by a waiter who after getting an automatic tip through the service charge, then told a barefaced lie to me and my group to try and get an extra 10 to 15 per cent.

This is really,...
