FIRST TIME EXPERIENCING RACISM DISCRIMINATION - felt strongly about writing a review of the place. My friends and I ordered three dishes: one bacon brioche and two sausage brioches. My friends received their foods first, and the waitress said for me to wait just a minute. What I thought would be one minute turned into 35 minutes(no joke); I asked whether my food was coming out or not while I waited. My friends had to leave before me because they had booked a tour and I was left sitting by myself. Finally, I decided to ask the waitress to cancel the order, but, since that wasn't a possibility, I settled on take-out. What infuriated me was that people who I saw come into the store at least 20 minutes after I sat down had already received their sausage brioche, which was the same dish I ordered. I believe I am right to assume that they didn't want to serve me the food first---BECAUSE I WAS ASIAN. I was trying to recall the situation that played out in the restaurant while sitting in my AIRBNB eating my somewhat-cold brioche. NOT WORTH 10.5 BUCKS FOR THE...
Read moreThis place is one of Dublin's hidden gems when it comes to breakfast.
The location is very central and allows for it to be easily found. The restaurant itself isn't very big but they can fit a lot of people with the space they have. The staff is also very friendly and even though they work at a fast pace, are attentive.
The food is amazing. I had the skillet breakfast and my friend had a bacon plate - unfortunately I don't remember the exact name. We also shared an order of the pancakes. Our favorite item (as ironic as it is) were the potatoes - I don't know how they're cooked but they're perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside without being too hot or too dry.
I highly recommend coming here if you're considering it. The skillet plate also does an amazing job of giving a new spin on the typical Irish breakfast while reaching new...
Read moreThe Food: We got the Dublin Coddle (€7.50) and a lentil pie (€9.50). We didn't know what a coddle was, but it is a soup with sausage, potatoes, and a few diced veggies. Good flavors, although it could have been a little bolder. The coddle also came with several pieces of bread with baked cheese, which was fantastic - it stole the show. The bread was so soft and perfect, and the cheese had great flavor. The lentil pie was interesting - not a pie in the sense I was expecting, it was topped with potatoes and cheese. The flavors really came together well. This also came with a side of fresh bread, that again was top notch. Both dishes also came with side salads - very nice portions and excellent quality of ingredients. Salads were scarce during our time in Ireland, and these were much needed. Overall, really...
