This place serves amazing food, at a cost. It's ok to pay a premium price for high quality dishes, but it annoyed me to see no attention to the client, whatsoever. For example: In Italy in almost every restaurant they tend to offer you free "amaro" or "grappa", especially when you pay such a bill. In this place not only they didn't do that, but the service was bad too. Staff was not trained properly, and their Italian was mediocre. Moreover, the owner, was giving orders to its staff in a pretty rude way in front of clients. We asked for a baby chair and they had only one, busy. The toilet didn't have a changing mat for babies. Such a petty. In terms of food, nothing to say, exceptional. I loved my troffie alle castagne e funghi. The prosciutto crudo was of one of the best qualities. The semifreddo al pistacchio was also really tasty. They didn't have my favourite wine, inferno valtellina, despite it was on the menu. Overall an ok experience. For the food I would give 4 stars. For the service 2 stars. 3 is the right average.

In Via Vitani, one of the oldest streets in the heart of Como an ancient buildings hides an lovely place Degusteria. In this warm and welcoming atmosphere, you can be tempted by the mind-blowing smell and taste of truffles. But if you resist this temptation, you'll still be impressed and not disappointed by other flavours. The charming and youthful staff will wittily demonstrate the subtleties and professionalism of the service, even when a question would give a self-respecting and traditional Italian a heart attack. The wine list is worthy of attention and will not disappoint even the most cost-conscious. You'll find wonderful choices with a DOCG label. But you will also be given the opportunity to show off your wealthy status. As they say, it's all in your hands, no pressure. A great choice of dinner venue when you want something special without being caught in the tourist trap.

We called in after seeing the menu outside. The wine list is extensive and the bottle we had (€52) was very nice although towards the cheaper end. We enjoyed the Parma ham and buffalo mozzarella starter. I then had the ragu which was perfect. However the braised beef was tough and bland which was a shame. My wife had the pumpkin gnocchi and sea bass. She enjoyed both however there were a lot of bones (some to be expected I know) in the sea bass, and the vegetables were quite bland although well presented. We spent €190 which we thought was a little pricey for the food we had but we did enjoy it. The atmosphere was very quiet with it being off season, however the waiters seemed quite awkward and overly attentive.

We visited this restaurant 2 nights ago and it wasn't a good experience at all. The attitude of the staff changed for the worst when we ordered a meal to share with some wine. They didn't have our first order so we had some spaghetti carbonara instead. It wasn't very good, in fact, it was very cloying and well below average. But what made the experience particularly awful was that we had to keep asking for things like olive oil and were ignored for most of the time. When we eventually got some oil, there was only dregs in the bottle so we asked for more, to be then told that a supplement had to be charged for the olive oil. We refused this bit of petty extortion. We visit Italy frequently and we love Italy and have NEVER been charged a 'supplement' for olive oil. This is a ridiculously greedy thing to do to customers - was this just because we only ordered one meal to share with bread and wine. There was one waiter who was pleasant but the rest were rude and unprofessional. Needless to say, we never gave a tip and will never go back to this terrible place. Will we recommend Distgusteria to our friends? Of course not, never in a...

to say that this was an experience is an understatement. we went to this lovely shop intrigued by its fancy menu. we ordered 2 glasses of wine and a risotto for starter . it was sugested for 2 people wich led us to believe it will be cooked from the beginning since its hard to make 1 portion from the beginning. it was pre cooked. for seconds we had a seabass a ragout and 2 glasses of wine. first came a bucket of plain bread. no plates on the table yet . no wine yet. then came a bland risotto still no wine. then the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert. we asked for our mains first... still no wine. our mediocre main came but no forks to eat it. still no wine. at the end we asked for the bill disappointed and expecting to find a charge of wine and we did. after 30 minutes of asking for the bill around 5 times at every single waiter we could find our misery ended. at least they took off the charge of the great wine we never had off the bill. thank you very much for this...
