This restaurant is so perfect through and through, I just want to wrap the entire establishment up (with the exception of one waitress, not the waitress that assisted us but a different one) with care and bring it home to the USA with me! I just can't comprehend how I could ever part with it now that we've discovered this Italian gem!
Of note: Race is very much an issue for some in Italy. A waitress here nearly knocked me out of my seat and she intentionally refused to say excuse me or sorry. She was the one off character of this entire food story. Everyone else in this establishment was pure gold...much like the food!!
I kitted out the Mamma Mia fried pizza with fresh garlic + mushrooms = Bellissima!!!! The pizza crust is very similar to my all time favorite Indian bread bhatura. It's just insane how relatively simple it is but the execution is flawless, unique and truly unforgettable! Please don't ever change! I'd say this pizza was the work of incredible innovation but a quick read of their menu will tell you all of this amazingness is actually the continuity of tradition! So very Rome!
We ended our meal with dolci, particularly a fried pizza stuffed with a rich, smooth and creamy pistachio gelato mixed with white chocolate and crunchies throughout! If pistachio is not your thing, you can have chocolate gelato instead. I don't know where we found an additional stomach to feed this incredible dessert because our bellies were already full from the pizza but we just had to have it! I'm so glad we did! This restaurant is not one to miss!
Amazing food, hospitable and sincere staff= Fantastic (and yummy!) memories of our stay in Rome!...
Read moreNapolitano style pizza is not my favorite style of pizza, but this place nails it. Fluffy, soft edges on the wood oven baked pizza. Lightly crispy all the way across the bottom despite being extra saucy and having ample toppings. As a result, it is not super floppy and can maintain the shape of a slice when picked up.
I split a Reginella and a Tonino with a friend, and we were super full by the end of the meal. The Reginella was not super heavy for a fried pizza. The cicoli paired well with the buffalo cheese and ricotta and balanced salty, savory flavors. The cicoli was a thicker tender diced cut of pork. There wasn't much tomato in the fried pizza, but perhaps since it's fresh tomatoes, it would have made the fried crust soggy anyway. The Tonino was lightly seasoned, and the sauce really sings throughout the pizza as a result.
Service was friendly and attentive c: bathrooms were clean. Looking forward to returning to try...
Read moreI visited this restaurant but left disappointed. We waited 30 minutes without anyone taking our order. I understand it was busy, but while new guests were constantly being seated, we were ignored.
When we decided to leave, I politely asked for the bill for the water. The server said “okay” but never returned. When I approached her, she suddenly switched to Italian and told us to sit back down, saying she would take our order now — not to apologize for the delay, but simply to redirect us without acknowledging the issue.
This was the same server who had been speaking to us in English and had given us English menus. When I asked her to continue in English, she looked irritated and passed us off to another server. We were charged for water and a service fee, despite...
