This place is overrated. It is OK for having a wine and share an antipasto, which is fairly more expensive than what you can get in many other places. I came here in a party of 5, the waiter took quite some time to take our order and replied with a rough tone when I told him we were ready to order the main dishes. After he took the order, we waited for one hour and a half to be served. When we asked whether we needed to wait much longer, he interrupted me replying they were very busy, they had only one cook, and plenty of customers who have arrived earlier to serve. Still, when an old client/friend arrived, the client was immediately served with the same dish that some of us ordered.
Regarding the dishes, the fish was too salted, and the pasta and the meat with potatoes had no taste. I don't recommend this place as a restaurant! Don't let the good reviews/stars mislead you, those ratings mainly match the wine variety and the decoration, but service, food and value for...
Read moreWe visited this beautiful wine shop/bar, as we are wine lovers and it was smack bang opposite our apartment. It was my 30th birthday and we had a wine tasting booked somewhere else but due to the bad weather a few days before, it unfortunately damaged the historic building and they were unable to fix it in time. We then asked if buccone vini e olii were able to rescue the evening and they did not disappoint. Paolo talked us through a tasting of 6 impeccable wines, having taken note of our individual preferences, they paired foods with each wine and even catered for mine and my husbands vegetarian diet. The tasting was fun, informative and perfectly done. No questions about any wine, terroir or region went unanswered and it was truly a really unforgettable experience. thank you so much to each and every person who played a part in setting this up and delivering. We will 100% come back on our next visit....
Read moreWe loved this quaint wine bar. The owner is very knowledgeable and told great stories about his wine selections. They will customize a flight of wines based on your preferences. These are full glasses of wine, not a “tasting” flight. This is the perfect place to buy wine to be shipped back to US if you are visiting Rome. They will ship 6 bottles to US for €99 and 12 bottles for €149 which is a deal compared to the cost and hassle of arranging it yourself. We asked for 6 bottles to be shipped since I knew I would never find those wines at home. They serve oysters and a few other small plates. As an aside, the wine shipping was easy and very fast, arriving to the states just 2 days after we got home :) Can’t wait to go back to this special place. A lot less touristy then some of the other wine...
